Taste: Eh. Not impressed.
Price: $10.99, good price!
Nutrition: Not bad for dessert.
Ease of Use/Store: Easy to use, difficult to store.

Summary

The Costco Karen’s Bakery Danish Puff Pastries is a package of 48 treats – two sleeves of vanilla, one chocolate hazelnut, and one cinnamon. The puff pastries come from Karen’s Bakery, which has been in business in Denmark since 1890.

Honestly, I didn’t really like the Costco Karen’s Bakery Danish Puff Pastries. I thought the flavors were “so-so.” The only one I actually enjoyed was the vanilla. The cinnamon and chocolate tasted dried-out and flavorless. I won’t be rebuying it – sorry!

What I Like: The vanilla puff pastry was delicious on the inside and outside, comes with 48 puff pastries, three different flavors, and nice packaging.

What I Don’t Like: Did not like the chocolate or cinnamon, dried-out texture, tasted old and flavorless, and difficult to store.

Detailed Review

If you’ve been thinking about trying the Costco Karens Bakery Danish Puff Pastries, I highly recommend looking at my comprehensive guide below. There, you’ll find information such as how it tastes, how much it costs, and where to find it!

Location in Costco Store

The location of the Costco Karens Bakery Danish Puff Pastries was a bit odd. They were located outside the refrigerated dairy section next to the breakfast items and deli meats.

The item number for Costco Karens Bakery Danish Puff Pastries is 1735172.

Price

The price of the Costco Karen’s Bakery Danish Puff Pastries is just $10.99, which I think is a steal. This is especially true considering you get a whopping 48 puff pastries inside!

Ease of Use/Store

The Costco Karen’s Bakery Danish Puff Pastries are easy to use. All you need to do is open the box, remove the sleeves of pastries, take off the packaging, and start eating!

They will last about six months when stored properly.

You’ll need a separate container or bag to store these puff pastries. Unfortunately, their packaging is not resealable (which I highly prefer from pre-packaged food items!).

Taste

Well, guys, I didn’t love the Costco Karen’s Bakery Danish Puff Pastries. I know many people absolutely love these cookies, but I wasn’t that big of a fan.

Let me explain:

The vanilla puff pastries were pretty good. I enjoyed the thin, sugary coating on the outside. It gave the cookie an added dose of sweetness, which is 100% necessary. I also loved the texture! It is super flaky and light, just like a Danish puff pastry should be. The filling was yummy, too. It tasted almost like marshmallows. My son, Pierce, said they tasted like Pop-Tarts!

Altogether, I give the vanilla cookies two thumbs up. I will probably finish one of the sleeves before they expire.

Where I ran into taste problems was with the chocolate hazelnut and the cinnamon.

Personally, I did not enjoy the chocolate hazelnut flavor. I didn’t think that the chocolate or the hazelnut was very pronounced. It had almost a stale flavor to it that was, well, boring and unsatisfying. I won’t finish these.

I didn’t really like the cinnamon flavor, either. Yes, there was some cinnamon taste, almost like a graham cracker. That part was somewhat satisfying. Yet, the texture of this cookie was kind of off. It lacked the sugar coating and didn’t have the same desirable flakiness as the vanilla cookie.

That said, I probably won’t buy the Costco Karen’s Bakery Danish Puff Pastries again any time soon. I just didn’t enjoy them enough to re-purchase.

Three different flavors to try!
Yummy vanilla filling!

Nutrition

Of course, the Costco Karen’s Bakery Danish Puff Pastries aren’t “healthy,” but they’re not terrible, either. I like the fact that the ingredient list is very short!

Those with milk, tree nuts, and wheat allergies should avoid these cookies.

Nutritionally, the Costco Karen’s Bakery Danish Puff Pastries aren’t too shabby. You can eat two wafers for just 150 calories. This is pretty cool, considering the wafers are a decent size.

Every cookie has its own numbers for carbs, sugars, etc. However, they mostly hover around 9 grams of fat, 15 grams of carbs, and 9 grams of sugar. It’s not horrible for two cookies!

Final Verdict

I won’t buy the Costco Karen’s Bakery Danish Puff Pastries. I just didn’t like them that much. The vanilla was the only one that was enjoyable to eat, and I liked the texture and filling. The chocolate hazelnut and cinnamon weren’t very good, and I probably won’t finish them.
