Belgian chocolate is definitely considered some of the best chocolate in the world.

Really, it comes down to quality. Belgian chocolate is made using the finest cocoa beans that are finely ground to perfection. The result is an impressive flavor and texture.

Nothing says “decadent dessert” quite like a delicious piece of chocolate – especially Belgian chocolate.

Detailed Review

Let’s dive in.
Location in Costco Store
As much as I assumed the Costco Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates would be entangled in the web of holiday goodies, I surprisingly found it amongst the other chocolate items toward the front of the store (near the cash registers).
The item number for Costco Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates is 869351.
Price
A box of Costco Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates costs $16.99.
I know I know – spending almost $20 on a box of chocolates can seem a little steep. But let’s be honest – there are way pricier boxes of chocolates out there. (If you like to treat yourself or your lover to fancy chocolates, you know exactly what I’m talking about.)
That said, I’d say the price is “fair.” This is especially true considering there are an impressive 46 pieces per box.
That’s a lot of chocolate, y’all!
Ease of Use/Store
Let me start by saying the packaging of Costco Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates is adorable. It’s perfectly themed for the holiday season. I couldn’t get over the ribbon detailing – so cute! Basically, this is a gift that doesn’t need wrapping.
Now, let’s talk about ease of use and storage.
It’s simple, really. Open the packaging and dive into the chocolate! When you’re done, simply put the lid back on top until you’re ready to sink your teeth into more velvety goodness.
When stored properly, the Costco Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates lasts about five months after purchase. For reference, I purchased mine on 11/27/2023, and the best-by date is 05/24/2024.
Taste
The Costco Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates are genuinely amazing. They have the perfect amount of decadence without being too over the top (I don’t know about you, but some chocolates can make me sick – that wasn’t the case with these).
For the most part, I enjoyed all of the flavors. The chocolate was sensational and melted in your mouth. Those with fillings were wonderfully smooth and velvety. Those with toppings had just the right amount of crunch.
I’m going to highlight the first five that I tried:
- White Pistachio Mignon – This one was, by far, my favorite. I’m a huge fan of white chocolate, and the addition of the crunchy pistachio made it *next level.* It was SO good – I wish there were more than two in a box!
- Milk Nougat Heart – The heart was truly divine. I enjoyed the ultra-rich flavor of the chocolate.
- Manon Coffee – Wow! The coffee flavor was very strong, and it got an extra dose of richness from the dark chocolate. Quite powerful – but in the best way possible.
- Medallion Dark – I loved the flavors and textures this little piece packed. A definite winner in my book!
- White Citrus Circle – Now, I had higher hopes for this one. While I loved the white chocolate and lemon shell, the filling was a little “eh” for me. I didn’t want to finish it. (Good thing there are 18 flavors to pick from, huh?)
Overall, I score the Costco Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates an 8 out of 10. They’re not the *very best* chocolates I have ever tasted, but they’re up there.
Nutrition
Nutritionally speaking, these aren’t loaded with the healthiest ingredients. But come on, it’s chocolate! What do you really expect?
The only thing to really watch out for is the allergens, including milk, wheat, eggs, soy, hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, pistachios, coconut, walnuts, and sesame.
In terms of calories and whatnot, these chocolates are pretty high! Two pieces are a whopping 150 calories with 9 grams of fat, 15 grams of carbs, and 12 grams of sugar.
Basically, you don’t want to inhale the entire box at once (although it might be tempting).
Final Verdict
Overall, I highly recommend the Costco Kirkland Signature Belgian Luxury Chocolates. It’s an excellent box of delicious chocolates, and with 18 different flavors, you’re sure to find a few that you enjoy (if not all of them!). The tastes were incredible, and the textures were even better!
