Azzecca launches her new party brand, Cosimea, at Smartbar as a part of our ARC After Dark series on August 30th with Salute, X Club., and Shaun J. Wright.
She explains the party is, “an exploration of forward thinking and other-worldly club sounds,” and will spotlight a, “slightly left of centre, cosmic vibe.”
This is Azzecca’s third time playing at ARC, and while she’s traveling to play around the world now, she still calls Chicago home. Having her hometown as the backdrop for the launch of her new event is very special for everyone on the ARC team.
The party brand takes the place of her previous event series, Dirty Disco, which got its start on Chicago dance floors many years ago.
In a statement, she explains, “Although I owned the Dirty Disco name and trademark, a collective in Texas who’d previously used the name asked me for the use of it, and out of a love and respect for queer spaces in dance music, I was more than happy to hand over the trademark to allow them to grow and flourish. Now I am more than looking forward to the future, as I’ve taken this opportunity and time with my team to create a new project that feels like a true extension of the Azzecca brand. Cosimea will grow to be much, much more than an event series.
