An okay murder mystery with adequate acting by a largely unremembered, if not unknown cast. However, there were just enough false trails to follow to keep one guessing until the end. Unlike so many of these mysteries, the police are not portrayed as inept but, of course, the hero - a mystery writer - is one step ahead. Not bad for a "B" film.

I just loved this movie - even my kitten watched it with me (plenty of action). I've seen this type of movie I don't know how many times, but I don't ever get tired of it.

Enjoyed the movie with the exception of the police interrogations loud and jabbing voice.

Murder at a costume party sets the scene. The resulting movie is entertaining without being thoroughly engaging. Filmed on brightly lit, existing Universal sets, the production values are a bit above average for this kind of second feature. With its almost total lack of atmospheric scenes it could be called an old bright house mystery. A large cast made up mostly of unknowns is mostly adequate. The direction is less than inspired. Regardless of everything else the mystery is the thing, and this mystery works. I'm not ashamed to say one aspect of the plot had me completely fooled. The bottom line is fun for who-done-it fans - others should look elsewhere. BTW, I have no idea how the title "Green Eyes" is connected to the plot.

I thought the title meant jealousy was the going to be at the root of this murder mystery, but instead it refers to something else entirely. The story starts off in a hurry, then slows to a fairly steady pace. Good acting and screenwriting eased digesting the police interrogations of suspects, and pulled me into the story. Top billed Charles Starrett and Shirley Grey were especially good. I couldn't figure this mystery out until shortly before the murderer revealed himself, but it was fun trying.
I downloaded the 296MB MPEG4 file. Video quality was Ok. Audio quality was fine.
