Certificate / Registration # Description

TxDMV Number A 10-digit TxDMV number must be entered. If the motor carrier\'s TxDMV number contains less than 10 digits, please add zeros to the beginning of the number.

Motor Carrier Type Definitions

Bus - A motor carrier that transports passengers in a vehicle designed or used to transport more than 15 passengers, including the driver. It does not include a motor vehicle operated by an entity whose primary function is not the transportation of passengers, such as a vehicle operated by a hotel, day-care center, public or private school, nursing home, or similar organization.

Commercial Carrier - A motor carrier who operates a commercial motor vehicle having a gross weight, registered weight or gross vehicular weight rating over 26,000 pounds, that is designed or used for the transportation of cargo.

Hazardous Cargo Carrier - A motor carrier that transports hazardous materials in a quantity requiring placarding as defined in the Federal Hazardous Materials Transportation Act (49 U.S.C. 5101 et seq.).
