KNights je šachová hra. Vašim cieľom ako hráča je poraziť vášho protivníka tak, že mu dáte šach mat.

  • Hra na Free Internet Chess Server (FICS)
  • Sledovanie dvoch počítačových hráčov, ako hrajú proti sebe
  • Podpora pre sledovanie platných ťahov
  • Označovanie možných ťahov, posledného ťahu protivníka a zdrojov šachu
  • Hranice šachovnice a notácie
  • Kompletné ovládanie času s hodinami štýlu Plasma
  • Niekoľko tém s možnosťou stiahnutia nových priamo z programu
  • Animované ťahy (nastaviteľné)
  • Sledovanie hry na šachovom serveri vrátane grafu, textovej konzoly a šachového widgetu
  • Voľba na vrátenie a nové vykonanie pohybov
  • Grafické rozhranie na vytváranie a prijímanie ponúk od vzdialených hráčov
  • Podpora protokolu UCI (používa Stockfish, Cheesbase a mnoho iných)
  • Podpora pre ukladanie a načítavanie súborov Portable game notation (PGN)
  • Použitie Jovie, programu text na reč KDE na vyslovenie ťahov protivníka
  • Schopnosť ovládať program cez rozhranie D-Bus
