Description

Wipr blocks ads, popups, trackers, cookie warnings, and other nasty things that make the web slow and ugly.

Websites in Safari will look clean, load fast, and stop invisibly tracking you. You’ll notice significant improvements to your battery life and data usage. Setup is a snap.

Wipr’s blocklist is updated twice a week automatically, and has enhanced versions for the following languages: Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese.

Wipr 2 is a universal app: install it on all your devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro) with a single purchase. It’s fully accessible with VoiceOver, Voice Control, and more. Dark and Tinted icon variants are included.

Because it’s developed by a single independent developer and 100% funded by its users, Wipr only answers to you: no one can pay to have their ads unblocked, and there are no “acceptable ads”.

This app was built with love and patience. I hope you’ll enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed designing and building it.

The last content blocker you will ever need

Set it and forget it. That's how I want it. Wipr 2 just works. I can tell it was made by someone who actually browses the web the same way all of us do. That we want to browse websites without the ads, but still want the convenience to use the sites without adblockers breaking important features. This last part is so important since too many other solutions break basic features, forms and layouts leaving you no choice but to whitelist entire websites because your adblicker is blocking XYZ third party CDN or whatever. Wipr has been the only extension for me that does an amazing job at blocking unwanted content while leaving sites fully functional. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something that just works.

just as good as the first one if not better!!!

I’ve had this pre-ordered for the last couple of weeks. I was wondering if this app was ever going to get a major update. This should be everyone’s go to a blocking app for iPhones. It’s simple straight to the point. There’s no confusing settings, and it does what it says it’s going to do. The new major overhaul update is more aesthetically pleasing, and overall provides a better interface as to how the application works. I usually don’t spend time writing reviews or spending too much money, but this is five dollars. I knew I would not regret.

Not sure how this is different…

Wipr is one of the more effective content blockers on the App Store and it gets there without the user having to spend 20 minutes flipping various settings on and off to see what works, which is a real positive.

The problem is I’m not sure how Wipr 2 is different from the original. I get that sometimes you want to do a complete rewrite, but this one doesn’t feel like it was necessary from the customer’s perspective and I’m a bit disappointed that there aren’t more apparent improvements to justify the price.

A major feature the original was missing that this is also missing is the ability to not filter on certain sites. The functionality in Safari to turn off content blockers on a site isn’t reliable and randomly turns back on.
