I quit trying to get this to work

I’d rather do V-ups alone in front of my entire battalion while the CSM screams and spits in my face for 10 hours straight than to spend another minute trying to get this app to work.

I’d rather be in front leaning rest without any authorized rest position for three straight days than to spend another minute trying to get this app to work.

I’d rather drive a spike through my foot, leave it there, and do an extended Norwegian Foot March inside a volcano than to spend another minute trying to get this app to work.

I have not been able to get a single show, sports game, or movie to play but I have, usually within 5 minutes of opening the app, been able to exceed my session limit. The app today just stopped loading categories and is just blank after it opens. I have never been able to get a movie to open. It has been frustrating and bothersome. No matter what the internet speed is that I am connected to it is the same problem. Stop advertising this on AFN OCONUS and getting our hopes up that we may be able to watch something and feel even slightly connected to home. All that happens is failure and frustration.

F is for failure

The AFN app has been a major letdown. It consistently fails to function properly, making it difficult for service members like myself to access the content we need. Whether it's news, entertainment, or critical updates, the app simply doesn't work as advertised. For soldiers stationed overseas, reliable information and entertainment are crucial, yet this app falls short on all fronts.

From frequent crashes to sluggish performance, it feels like little effort has been made to ensure a smooth user experience. Instead of offering the support and connection we need, the app has become a source of frustration. Unfortunately, it doesn’t serve its purpose for those in the field, where reliability and accessibility are paramount. AFN can and should do better for the troops.

This app literally never works

This is just another instance that AFN or the government blasts champagne in their face saying they’re taking care of us but it doesn’t work at all. The app is extremely clunky, sign in never works and if I actually do get it to sign in, it tells me that “this content is only available at overseas military bases”. I’m stationed in Japan so don’t know how much more overseas I can get.

I also loved how they celebrated that any NFL game would be available on the app this year and that was never the case when I actually did manage to get the app to work. It was always the one or two market games that was being shown on cable AFN and that’s it.

Absolutely terrible app and terrible effort by AFN.
