This is titled "Everyday Salsa" for a reason. It is a staple in our house and we eat it nearly everyday. Most of ya'll don't understand the value of homemade salsa and how absolutely diverse and delicious it is. This is the salsa that I ate everyday in Mexico. The family that I lived with would make this on a daily basis and use it with every dish!
I believe that homemade, authentic salsa just might one of the most underrated condiments of all time. Need some more flavor?? Salsa. Need some more spice?? SALSA. Need a healthy alternative? SALSA!!!!!
How to eat and use blender salsa
What can I put salsa on besides chips you ask??? Let me begin to open your mind to the world of possibilities here...
- chips (this is a given)
- eggs (scrambled, poached, fried)
- Chilaquiles (I'll post about this another time)
- Any Mexican dish
- Mexican Milanesa Chicken
- Chicken
- Pizza (yes pizza, try it, you'll love it)
- Baked potatoes
- Tacos (authentic or American)
- Hamburgers
And this is just the beginning! Not only is this a healthy snack for your kids, but it is sooooooo tasty and will keep in your fridge for about a week. I never use store bought salsa and my kids won't eat it because they know the difference between homemade salsa and can taste it from a mile away. So let's get started!
How do you char veggies for salsa?
Start by putting 6-7 whole tomatoes in a pan along with 3, or 4, or 5, or 6 serrano peppers (jalapenos will work as well). I use 5-6 hot peppers because I prefer my salsa spicy, but if I want my kids to eat it I use 4-5. If I have guests over I use 3. Put some spice in your life! You need at least 3!!!
Your tomatoes and peppers should begin to blister and get charred. This is what you want. Check out the video at the bottom in the recipe if you want to see more! After they are seared, transfer them to a cutting board and remove the cores from the tomatoes and the stems from the peppers.
Place in a blender with salt, garlic and lime juice and blend until mostly smooth.
Serve warm with chips or along with your preferred dish. This is THE BEST salsa!!!

This looks delicious. I pinned it to make it later. I love all kinds of salsas. I like serrano peppers so it should be a winner for me.
