I do add dish soap or liquid detergent. Varying how hard you scrub, the material and the stain all count in successful removal. Laundry stains can take practice to learn what works. This laundry brush is superb! Bristles are not stiff and not too soft. I would not recommend using on nylon or other delicate synthetic. But it works perfect on cotton/polyester blends!
It’s made of light-weight and strong plastic. Its body is hallow, so it floats! The only thing that would make this brush perfect would be if the gripping part of it were made of some kind of rubber to prevent slipping because it does get quite slippery when working with soap.

This is a simple product with one job and I genuinely don't know why I procrastinated on adding it to my laundry bag. The brush is generously sized and the tapered body fits well in the palm. The bristles are just the right density and stiffness. My first application was taking care of a small splash of paint on some work pants. In the past I've used Dawn dish soap and my fingers to tackle this job which doesn't take much effort for sure but is a bit tedious. Swapping out for this brush was a revelation, the task took a third of the time and the end result was definitely better. The fabric wasn't stressed as much and the paint came right out.

My prose may be a bit purple here but this brush got the job done and what more could you ask for?
