My initial problem was that I received an empty box. There was some packing tape over the hole but no fork. "Missing or broken part" seemed to be the most appropriate option for reporting it to Amazon but there was nothing to return to them. They replaced the fork quickly and so far there's been no additional charge so maybe a real person read my explanation. Today, I used the fork for the first time to turn over a vegetable bed. The handle popped off almost immediately. There wasn't a screw holding it on and there didn't appear to be much glue. I haven't decided to try to fix it or return it. All that said, it is a beautiful tool!

I needed a new garden fork, and this wooden handled spading fork looked ideal. It arrived in a huge box, and the safe and sturdy packing meant the stainless steel tines shone when I unpacked it.
This is a lovely, traditional garden fork. It's not too heavy, and the tines are for definitely for spading, they are slightly curved and not as thick as those found on a digging fork used for prying. In the sandy soil I have in Florida these tines are perfect for getting around weeds and roots in the garden, as well as for turning compost or light soil. The stainless steel construction means it really does shine, and passes cleanly through leaf mulch and loam. Keeping this fork clean and ready for work won't be a problem, and as long as I'm careful to avoid pitting and corrosion it should last for many seasons to come.
The handle is definitely a standout feature of this fork. The T is a lovely piece of wood pegged in place, and then at the base of the shaft it is held firmly in place by a stainless steel screw. This means that should I have any problems with the handle in the future it can be easily replaced. This is much better than the rivets I've found on many tools recently that mean a damaged handle means replacing the whole tool. The wood of the handle is sanded smooth but unstained. I'm tempted to give it brush of preservative oil to bring out the grain. The wood feels good in the hands, and the length is just right for this kind of fork, fitting my long 6ft frame without any back ache and also comfy for my 5ft 6 wife to use as well.
If you are looking for a spading fork that won't corrode easily and comes with a nice traditional wooden handle, this fork is definitely worth a look.

The 4-tine stainless steel pitchfork by Hunkenr, is not your average garden tool. The wood and SS look so nice I might just hang it on the wall. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.
I. Quality – It feels like very nice materials made equally as good. I’d definitely put this one in the upper tier on the quality scale of garden tools. I’d guess it should hold up very nicely and be a be around for a long time of service. II. Performance – It works great at its intended job. The grip is comfortable and it feels very strong in action.
Overall, this is a great choice in the pitchfork category, I’m very impressed with this one and will be looking to see what else I can get from this company. This would be a great choice weather you’re going to use it for years or just as decoration. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.
If you’d find it helpful to see an up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video!
You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

My first impression when I opened the box was, "Wow, this is too pretty to use in my compost pile!" It is like a handmade piece of art for gardeners.
The stainless steel fork tines are so shiny and smooth, and dang sturdy! The welds were done so nicely that my husband, who is a welder, took the time to admire the craftsmanship of the tines when he saw it. It is solid and heavy duty. The wooden handle and 'T' handle end look hand crafted as well with a beautiful piece of solid wood. The carving of the 'T' handle end looks custom to this individual handle and is nice and thick giving you a solid hunk of wood to grip with your back hand when using the pitchfork while turning the compost pile. It is so nice that I feel special just using it.
I did give it a little test run to see how it felt in my hands and how the ergonomics would be for me, a short gardener, and I found it to be very comfortable and balanced. The solid weight of it helps to dig into the pile but doesn't feel too heavy as to wear me out using it. Of course because it is so pretty I cleaned it off afterwards and am keeping it inside my house in my garden sunroom area, it is too nice to leave outside by the compost pile.
Just another product you would leave in the store if you got to inspect it. One of the tines has a crack. You can see the producer tried and failed to buff the defect out. This product will be returned.

After buying this pitchfork, I promptly left it out in the elements for several months-- apparently I had no need for a pitchfork in winter. In any case, I picked it up recently to use it-- and other than a few little black mildew looking stains on the handle (it wasn't kept dry!), it looks like its brand new-- and works that way also.
The handle is solid feeling and sturdy, with no "give" or "weak spots"-- it just feels SOLID. Same for the tines of the fork-- they have just enough flex to keep them useful, but they're NOT bending or going anywhere. The tool itself also feels very solid in my hand, and while I'm working with it-- feels like a dependable and strong pitchfork.
I'm very pleased with this tool and am glad I have it on my farm!
