Good snow thrower with good power. The only negative I have is it throws the snow straight out in front of you. Makes clearing the sidewalk take longer. If it was angled out some, it would not put it in your pathway that you have to continuously remove.
PROS: it does work, scrapes down to ground when held upright, CONS: it's heavy, power button doesn't stay down, you have to keep it pressed and it hurts after a while, snow flies everywhere, doesn't work awesome on very heavy, wet snow
I'm a petite person and this was heavy for me to lug around. You have to lift it up frequently. I used it on about 6 in of very wet heavy snow. It did work but I had to push it through with a little elbow grease and force it through quite a bit as snow was sticky. Snow kind of blows everywhere especially in wind. It's not a snowblower!! It's not ideal for an entire driveway unless it's small. I used it around cars, in front of garage and a walkway. I imagine it will work much better if the snow were not so wet and heavy. I don't regret buying this! It has it's pros and cons though. Battery was so so. Small battery lasted about 15-20 minutes. ALSO the hand trigger you have to press to keep it powered does NOT stay down, so you have to hold it down the ENTIRE time and boy, my fingers and hand start to hurt after a while. That's a bad feature that could be redesigned. UPdate 3/3: I have since used this on lighter, fluffier snow, about 3 inches. It worked better and the snow did not stick. It was less windy so the snow didn't quite blow everywhere and on top of me, but I had to lean it up sort of straight (I'm very short) for the snow to be thrown straight forward. I did get a lot cleaned up in about 10 minutes! So, it worked better, but the battery seemed to be short lived, even shorter than the 1st time I used it. That was the smaller battery it came with (came with 2, one small and a bigger one).
This was recommended by my physical therapist. I am 77 years old, 5' 3" tall at 120 lbs. I do not have a lot of upper body strength. My right shoulder is shot. So, the first snow, I got out there expecting to blow around 4 inches of snow off my deck. However, when I started it, it lurched forward about 3 feet, and I ended up flat out in the snow! Laughing hysterically as I was not expecting that ... so if you are a small person, I do not recommend this Snow Joe ... it's too much trouble to send back so hoping to find someone who would want it.
