So, admittedly, I only get a few days into the calendar, but I have a few thoughts.

1.) dog treat ingredients look good. I am PICKY about what I give my dog. I want my pups to live a long life, so I don't feed them crap (like milk bones)

2.) Flavor wise, my dogs love them. to be fair, my dogs are not picky when it comes to treats.

3.) I like that each treat has an ingredient list on the back of the box, but I really don't like that there is no way to identify which treats you are giving to your pups each day. You can narrow it down to a few options, since there are images of the treats on the back with their description, but several look the same and don't have enough color or smell variance to easily identify them. This brings me to the odd way the advent calendar is set up. usually you work your way through the days by each row, and advent calendars run like regular calendars (1,2,3,4, 5, 6, 7) but the order of this calendar is all over the place. If you read across the first row, the numbers are 10, 13, 19, 23, 8, 3. So, if you start with 1, your first treat is the bottom left slot, and the 2 is in the second row in the 4th column. I tried looking at the black of the treat box, seeing if maybe the treats were in the order of how they were listed on the back, and maybe that is why they scattered the dates so oddly (so a dog would not get get the same treat type several days in a row) but no. the treat list order on the back of the box does not coordinate with date or by the organization of rows/columns. There is no way to identify which treat you are giving your dog. An improvement would be to print the treat name on the flap when you open the daily treat slot.

Other than the lack of treat identification, I am super happy with this purchase and so are my pups

UPDATE:
I finally decided to open up the whole thing and see the treat offerings. Turns out that the the "assortment" is random because there are several treat types that are not in my doggie advent calendar. I got none of the cube pieces or bear pieces. I did receive a lot of the cookies and cheesy treats, which I'm still happy with, but I do feel it's worth noting you will not get one of everything. Other side note that I did not initially notice, but there is a pop tab at the top of the calendar so you can hang this on the wall. Since the numbers don't go in order, I don't know if it would have the same draw as a regular calendar, but it was a nice touch.
