Hit this wedge so many times, trying to split log then trying to get wedge out. Useless now and no idea how to get wedge out. Tried ax and mall and sledge hammer and chisels but nothing moved wedge or split log. Wedge will probably stay there forever.

This is a good wedge. What makes it good? Its angles are correct, which means it easily starts and finishes a split. Many wedges sold on here don't have this feature - and if you have ever tried to split with one of those, you know how hard it is, as the wood resists the split and the wedge bounces out. Simple tools require the correct physical properties and this one does just that. Recommended.

Splits wood when just a maul won’t work.

The wedge is 5 lbs. of solid iron. I was able to pound it into all the pieces of wood I was unable to split with just a maul alone. I was able to successfully split all the wood with this item. Excellent.
