I'm using these to dress functional 3d printed parts in PLA. PLA doesn't sand worth the darn, but for mechanical parts at least, files and rasps do a good job of cleaning things up. If you are a woodworker these may or may not hold up over time, but for me, they work and were very inexpensive.
