Nudging Toward Nuclear Nightlife
Having released his fifth book, fans of Mick Tomlinson will be pleased to see he’s still a free man, writing avant-garde poetry within the late stage republic known as the USA. Sensing the sharp edge of censorship looming around every cultural corner, the antisocial poet remains glued to his desk at home, researching history and paying close attention to politics and current events, all while doing his best to convert his analysis into clever little poems. When asked why he continues to write, he replied, “For the greater good, or for the trash bin of history. I hope my poetry lands somewhere in the middle.”
Mick currently resides in a microscopic town somewhere in Pennsylvania with his two cats, Bokeh and Drexel. The three of them like to stay up late each night, making fun of politicians and society while playing drinking games about how the world will end.
Bokeh thinks, “by deadly laser rainbow” ---DRINK!
Drexel thinks, “by comically large scissors” ---DRINK!
Mick thinks, “nudging toward nuclear nightlife” ---DRINK!
Having become slightly more misanthropic and a little more agoraphobic since his last book, the author can be seen walking around wearing a gas mask and an “I Voted For Myself” t-shirt while campaigning to become town mayor. The poems you’ll find in his latest book range from a heartfelt hankering for love, to an all out rage over where the people of earth seem to be headed. Over a cliff? Possibly. World War 3? Likely. Into nuclear extinction? He certainly hopes not. In his quest to learn as much as he can during his stay on planet earth, Mick pens a fifth book of emotionally charged and intellectually driven poetry, which impacts the hearts and minds of those who read it. He hopes you find inspiration within these pages, as well as the fire to fight.
