Description
Join us to meet local filmmakers and view short films that are all about Ann Arbor! As part of Ann Arbor 200 (the library’s celebration of the city’s bicentennial year), AADL commissioned 20+ short documentary films that explore topics from Ann Arbor's history. Dozens of local filmmakers, supervised by Donald Harrison of 7 Cylinders Studio, contributed stories of local businesses, annual traditions, and historical narratives. Weekly screenings on Mondays in December will feature 3 short films followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.
- Echoes of Techno: Electronic Music in Ann Arbor, directed by Martin Thoburn
- Room for Change: Ann Arbor's Fair Housing Protests in the 1960s, directed by Jennifer Howard
- Relentless Warrior: Al Wheeler, Ann Arbor's First Black Mayor, directed by Carole Gibson
These films are unrated.
