Something profound happened to me and I want to share it with you.

It was physically painful, but rather interesting and exciting to recognize the power of Connection Practice.
@our favorite cafe on Alii Drive just before the dog bite.

Gen and I like to walk to a cafe in Kona (Daylight Mind Coffee) on Alii Drive on the ocean from our house (hillside of Hualalai Mountain) as often as we can. It is our favorite thing to do, working with a cup of coffee: checking mails and writing or translating articles. This happened on the way home this Thursday.

A dog bit me.

I was aware of two dogs always barking when we pass by that house, but they had never come out of the house (they were without leash). So I used to think, "How well trained watch dogs they are!".

But not this Thursday morning.

Right after I passed the house maybe 20 feet away, one of the black dogs came running at me and bit my right calf. It happened in seconds without my notice as I was feeling totally safe and relaxed walking by as those dogs never came out of the gate before. I later learned that the owner put them a special collar that gave them a shock when they went beyond the set distance (so, obviously it did not work that morning).

I was shocked and in pain, but the dog went away after one bite, so I started walking home, until I notice drops of blood under my pants.

The dog was a rather big dog, Rottweiler I learned later, and really a great watch dog I should say, that used to be used as "fighting dog" in old days.

Anyhow, when I notice my bleeding, I shouted, "A Dog Bit Me" to ask for help, seeing my white pants started turning red. It was more serious than I thought...
right after the bite

Then, the good thing was I remember Connection Practice. I just did Quick Coherence.
Something I have been teaching and practicing.

The owner dashed out of the house and said, "What can I do for you now?"

I was already calm when I had a conversation with him.

I was ready to look at what was going on and rolled up my pants hem. I saw 4 or 5 punches of the dog teeth and one cut of half inches wide and 1/8 inches deep, and it was bleeding. I wanted to go home ASAP and wash the wound, so I asked for a ride. He did.

In the car, I continue the Coherence (trademark of HeartMath Institute, is 1. Heart Focus, 2. Heart breathing, 3. Heart Feeling of Appreciation), and I noticed even the pain started decreasing.

By the time I got home, a clear insight came and I followed through it.

I took off my pants, went to a bath room, washed the wound with running water, dry, apply extra-virgin olive oil with gauze, wrapped up with kitchen towel, took 6 Kangen-UKON(turmeric with its oil, as natural anti-inflammation), then asked him to take me to a hospital as Gen had to take our daughter to her appointment. My children was saying, "Are you OK, mom" and I said, "I am OK but need to see a doctor just in case".

The owner took me to a closest emergency clinic(private), but they refused seeing me because I was not bitten by my own dog. It did not make sense to me until later (the reason was you needed a police report when a dog other than your own bit you). So we had to drive another 7 miles south to a General Hospital. The owner left me there and told me to call him if I needed a ride home.

In the car, he was apologetic telling me that he would pay for the hospital bill and that a dog bite to a third party is a criminal and I could charge him. So I told him I have no intention of that, and I wanted the wound to be treated professionally and regain the healthy leg.

On that day and time, I had a meeting with my Japanese colleagues of the Connection Practice, and I was able to connect with them while waiting in the hospital. I was so happy about how well I was managing all of this. I got my new android cellphone "tethering" working and able to connect by ZOOM, explained what was going on to my colleagues .....my needs for trust, ability and integrity were fully met. I also got a lot of empathy from them, receiving their "coherence", which was empowering, needs of connection, understanding, care and love fully met.

I have been in the US (Hawaii) for 6 years now and this was my first experience of US hospital that I went for myself, so you know how curious I was the whole time. I was observing everything...(not bored at all)

After waitng for 20 minutes or so, a nurse called me and asked questions about my past medical history and drug allegies if any (I do have some). She took my blood pressure and then I was asked to go to another treatment room with beds where they would take care of the wound. She asked if I needed a wheel chair, but I said no and walked to the room.

I sat down on the bed, took off the kitchen towel wrap. She looked at my wound, and said, "oh, it's clean and good", so what she did was to apply salt-watered gauze and rewrap the wound with proper bandage (mine was a kitchen towel).

More waiting, another 15 minutes or so, and by the time a doctor came and took a look at my wound, it stopped bleeding and already somewhat dry, but the color around the bite was turning purple and a bit of swelling.

The doctor gave me prescription of antibiotics and I was good to go. I wrapped the wound by myself.

Then two police officers came and asked me questions about what happened. I told them what happened and that I had no intention of suing the owner. I told them the owner was kind and responsible, and agreed to pay for my hospital bill and that was enough for me.

I wanted to leave the hospital ASAP as I knew our daughter and her friend were needing a ride and waiting in town, so I wanted the shortest interview with the police, and it worked. While doing this, Gen (my husband) arrived to pick me up and we left the hospital to pick up our daughter and her friend in town.

My insight kept coming such as not to eat (to avoid suppuration), take 6 more Ukon (turmeric) pills, drink 9.5 alkaline water, green smoothie for dinner, no animal food. So I followed the insight.

By the dinner time, I had little pain, was able to stand, walk and cook the dinner as usual. If there is no pain nor swelling, I need no antibiotics, I thought, and went to bed.

I slept deeply without pain and woke up fresh next morning. The color around the wound has already turned pink from purple and my calf is on the way to healing in just ONE DAY.

Can you believe it?

I always teach my clients and students that you become more resilient and able to cope with challenges in life with ease by practicing Connection Practice. I kind of proved it myself on this dog bite incident. It really worked beautifully.

My surprise was not only I got calm but also the pain went away right after I practice Quick Coherence (copyright HeartMath Institute), and I got clear insight about what to do. Oh, my body says no sugar at all (as it increases infections), this is so important as I love sweets!

AND IT IS WORKING...

What I am happiest about all of this is I am not afraid of the dogs now. When my leg is healed, I meant to go to visit the owner and the dog and become friends with them. I want to celebrate the power of the Connection Practice.

I am so grateful to Rita Marie Johnson, for creating the Practice and kept sharing the wisdom with me since we met in 2006 in Canada at 2nd International Conference of Ministries/Departments of Peace.

I am grateful we have been friends over 10 years to create a world that connects us all.
The Organic Kangen-Ukon (termeric with its oil) I take to keep the wound from infecting is available at AMAZON. I buy them directly from Enagic, the maker, regularly as it is very helpful to have it handy in the house when something like this happens. Contact me if you are interested about the product:
We are not only against reopening of the nuclear power plants in Japan, but also against the decision made by Prime Minister Abe to make it possible for Japan to fight with USA against their enemy. I do not admit this change!

Aljajeera says Japan has taken a step for more militant country.
http://t.co/VmXdOUZIDn

ABC reports:
http://t.co/vj13say8gk

In India:
https://t.co/DukFwabVSE

In China:
http://t.co/AwAX6wVNhu

Yahoo (around the world)
http://t.co/XBBA26Jp3W

These people in the demonstration do not belong to one political party or labor unions. They are voluntarily joining the demonstration, which is really democratic in a way.

Japan does not have to become an ordinary countries which have army and they go to other countries to fight. Our Self Defense Force protect our nation (land) in Japan, not to go abroad (with USA) and fight (kill people) who have not done anything to Japan.

I really believe Japan's role is to practice article 9 as it says, and lead the world to more peace and sustainability no matter how strange (and idealistic) it seems. We are a small and unique country in the world who strive for world peace (is what I want Japan to be, like Costa Rica, who abolished military in 1948).

Article 9 (of Japanese Constitution): "Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes.

In order to accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized."

Joshua, who was leading the children's program in LP2014, sang this song at the closing of the retreat. It is a follow-after-me kind song line by line.

A few things Joshua shared in the morning play/game with children are my favorite moment of the retreat. I really want to bring my children next June and would like to start saving for that. There are other deep moments of celebration for my own learning and growth in NVC practice.

I am grateful for all the participants, assistants and trainers of LP2014. Mahalo nui loa (thank you in Hawaiian)
http://fukushimakidshp.blogspot.com/2014/05/kona-classical-musicians-united-to.html

I want to say that it was a great success. The hall was able to hold 50 seats, but 60 people came (more than expected) and they all said they enjoyed the music so much. The musicians were great (I had so much fun and joy playing with them), Violinist Ursula, Harpist Mo, Pianist Annu and Flutist Yumi (me).

Our harmony was beautiful together. As a result, we were asked to play at Sheraton Hotel in Kona in November for Kona Coffee Festival.

In the silent auction held at the same time of the concert in the next room, we were able to raise more than 1000USD, and ticket sales was 1120USD plus donation of about 900USD, all together we raised more than 3000USD in one day. This is the most successful fundraising event we have had so far for Fukushima Kids Hawaii.

I thank all the people who came, who shared the information and who donated silent auction items (Mayumi Oda and Hiroki Morinoue and other artists who donated their art works), and who bought them. You are making a difference for the children of Fukushima.

With 3000USD, we can support 3 chidden from Fukushima to Kona (to subsidize the airfare from Japan to Kona which is about $2500 for each child) and we need to raise 12000USD by the end of July for just airfare subsidary.

I will have another fundraiser on July 11, 2014 with Katie Moore, an inspirational ZUMBA instructor in Kona at Kona International Market. Join us for ZUMBATHON to support Fukushima Kids if you are in Kona that day.

Now I am sitting down in a dining room of Mountain Home Ranch in Calistoga, just finished my 1st day of NVC Leadership Program's June retreat. This community is where I belong and where I feel home, where I get most of my emotional support which help me to continue my work, which sometimes is very challenging!

When this retreat is over, I will be speaking at several locations in California.

My schedule would be:

Jun 11, 2014 @ Mendocino
Jun 13, 2014 @ Marin
Jun 14, 2014 @ Berkeley (Library, west wing)
Jun 15, 2014 @ open day (I am available for speaking/sharing)
Jun 20 or 21, 2014@Sacrament
Jun 28 or 29 @ Los Angeles

If you want to attend one of those events, please e-mail me. I will inform you where it is going to be held (most of them are held at a private home)
Campaign continues till the end of this year, Dec 31, 2013. We aim to raise $13000:
http://goo.gl/aBDMWJ
---------------------------
Java on the Rock is my favorite cafe located on makai (ocean) side of Alii Drive in Kailua Kona, Hawai'i. They have a coffee farm and roast their own famous and award winning Kona coffee, which is really popular and tasty.

Gen and I would like to walk to this place as often as we can from our house(takes about 30 minutes). It is our morning exercise and all the walk is so pleasant looking at Kailua Bay coming downand Hualalai Mountain going up. What I like most is the sandy floor where you can put your bare feet in, in addition to the view and location where you get to see turtles and dolphins often.

The owner (Andrea, Bruce) is kindly inviting Fukushima Kids to Java on the Rock for a breakfast and we mean to do that on Dec 27, only 9 days from now.

Fukushima Kids are arriving to Kona in 3 days (Dec 21) and we are getting busier and busier. Here is an event to welcome the kids and we would like to pack the hall of 300 people at Hualalai Academy. If you happen to be here in Kona, please join us to meet and cheer up the children from Fukushima.

We are still trying to raise money to pay for all the costs including airfares, food, lodging, transportations and activities of 8 people for 2 weeks. Hawaii is an expensive place, but it is worth the effort as this may be a life changing experience for the children.

3 boys are from the Kayak club in Fukushima and I am asking canoe clubs in Honaunau, Keauhou and Kona to sponsor the canoeing experience for the children.

I am very grateful and happy to be able to organize all of those activities thanks to the generosity of many people in Kona.

I do not know how it works, but I have a reason to raise money for Fukushima Kids even more so than ever.

Last week after the great success of Support Fukushima Kids Day and 3 garage sales, I counted all the money including small changes and separated money for each event, put it in different envelope, calculated the total and then put all the envelopes in a large brown envelope.

The next day, that brown envelope disappeared from our house.

I am afraid it was stolen by someone who knows we were fundraising. I did have many strangers in the house for the garage sale as we displayed nicer items inside the house.

When I realize money we raised was gone, I cried like a child (have not done this for some time).
I sobbed for a few hours and was depressed for days.
I was so sorry and discouraged that I did not know how to tell all the friends who helped me to raise money.

They all worked so hard.
I am grateful for them and this is what I have to tell them?
The money is stolen now? I wanted to report how much we raised and how grateful I was.

But now that 7 children and 1 chaperon from Fukushima are arriving on Dec 21, 2013, in just 10 days, I have no time to cry but to do what I can to raise money for them again.

What is gone is the money, $2600, but all the love and care I received from so many people in Kona for Fukushima Kids is intact. It is still with me and that is important.

$2600 is a lot for me. I guess it is a lot for anyone when the money is not yours but it is the money for Fukushima Kids we raised together. So many people, especially mothers, worked and helped.

I am so sorry it is gone now.

Please help me to regain what I lost and support the Fukushima kids.

I am inviting everyone to Fukushima Kids Welcome Festival. Bring your friend and family as it is a free event. (I hope to have enough fund raised by Indiegogo)

He has been my hero. As I did not have a chance to express my appreciation to him directly, I am writing my appreciation here.

He taught me not to give up. Forgiveness is not losing your power. I am now going through tough situation in my life, but thinking of the life of Nelson Mandela gives me hope and courage.

Fukushima Kids Hawaii is now inviting 8 people (7 kids and 1 chaperon) to Kona for 2 weeks of respite from their radioactive environment. They can enhance their health by eating fresh organic food (not with radiation) and playing outside without worrying about radiation freely.

At the moment, we do not have enough funding to support what we are trying to do. If you are in Japan and would like to support Fukushima Kids Hawaii, please donate to the account below:
A lot of good memories in Kamogawa growing rice, vegetables, mushrooms, fruits and children organically in the 200-year-old farm house!

Diane used to host children from Chernobyl in Kamogawa and now Fukushima children in California. Such a caring humanitarian. I am now joining her effort by launching Fukushima Kids Hawaii Project in the Big Island of Hawaii. We now have Fukushima Kids Hawaii House(right now as I write this, we are hosting a mother and two young children, 2 and 5 years old who had already developed thyroid cysts) open for 3 families all year round! Apply now by e-mail if you want to stay here with your children.
Here is the interview Leuren Moret did with Gen and me in California.
Leuren was a geologist who used to work for Lawrence Livermore Lab (US Government Nuclear Weapon Lab) to find a safe depository for nuclear waste in the USA, which she could not find. The Lab tried to make the falsification of her data, which made her to became a whistle blower and anti-nuke activist to inform the public about the risk of radiation.

She has been working for indigenous population and minorities as a scientist whose health is threatened by radiation. She introduced us to Dr. Stern Glass which was such an eye opener for us to learn about the risk of law level radiation.

Now, with Fukushima triple meltdown, our health is at risk and we need massive information sharing by people as media is unfortunately still supporting the nuclear industry and not disclosing what has been really happening there.

People in Hawaii and West Coast, and also entire USA will be (already has been) affected by the radiation from Fukushima as well as the existing radiation from nuclear testing and nuclear power plants leakage in the US. No wonder why cancer and hear attacks prevails Japan and USA.
We also Met Takemi san who hosted us for the Japanese traditional medicine (Harmonics Healing) workshop at her house. It was nice to meet a group of Japanese in San Francisco who are eager to learn the ancient and natural way of Japanese healing method.

The reunion with Kosta and Hollis was also fun. We went star and UFO watching one night after a wonderful dinner Hollis made for all of us. We then took an AMTRAK (US train) to Portland (Oregon) to meet with Suzy Ward, Matthew's mother. 18 hours of train ride was fun and spectacular for all of us (but it was not easy to sleep in the AMTRAK coach train. Next time, we will buy sleeping sheets).

Meeting Suzy is always great joy for me as she speaks with her dogs as well as her son Matthew. Very interesting just to stay around her and ask questions. Some of the interviews can be seen at Gen Morita's blog (in Japanese).

Shinobu hosted us also, gathering Japanese mothers in/near Santa Cruz area to support high school students who want to study in California. It can be done with low budget for 1 year if parents can come up with the money (about $6000 a year). I really hope Japanese mothers network around the world can support all the affected children in and around Fukushima!

Now we are back to Hawaii thinking about Fukushima kids and how to raise money for the winter program which is happening in two months now!! Fukushima kids Hawaii House also needs funding to keep it open ($24000/year for the house, water, electricity and insurance).

Everything we try to do costs money and I need to come up with a creative way of fund raising so that we can continue our mission.

Friends and connection (we say "Go-en" in Japanese) always has made it possible to realize my dream and mission before, so I am not too worried. But every help, every support will make a difference and I would love you to consider to support Fukushima Kids Hawaii Project, which you can do so by donating online through IAM-CED.org.
IAM-CED is our funding NPO so that your donation is tax-deductible.

You can use Paypal (Credit Card) to donate:
http://iam-ced.org/Donate.html

Thank you very much for your understanding and action in support of Fukushima kids.
They are now staying at Fukushima Kids Hawaii House (our house). The house can host 3 families from Fukushima who does not support from government yet exposed to high radiation daily.

During my trip, I was able to give a concert for Fukushima Kids Hawaii Project, raising money for the winter program (2 weeks in Kona, Hawaii) and Fukushima Kids Hawaii House, where the mothers and children from Fukushima can stay for free to detox and relax up to 3 months.

After the concert, I was busy with NVC trainers Jim and Jori Manske. They gave 10 workshops and 1 retreat in 2 weeks (2 workshops a day sometimes) and spread the seeds of Non Violent Communication in Japan.

The last and the biggest event for me was 10th Tokyo Peace Film Festival, which had shown 10 documentary films with 10 lecturers with 1010 participants! Wow.

The Mainich Daily News has written a wonderful article about the festival:
http://mainichi.jp/english/english/features/news/20130926p2a00m0na006000c.html

At the end of the 3 days festival, we all got up and danced to the song of Timor by Sadamu Komukai. It was a very moving experience.
Thank you for your support to our peace film festival to make it such a great event.
Some of you know I have been passionately learning and practicing NVC (Non Violent Communication). At the end of this month, I will be going to Bay Area to share NVC and also to participate Bay NVC Leadership Program 2013. I am really looking forward to reconnecting with NVC community members.

Here is the event Andrea, Gen and I are going to offer to the community of Hawaii who are wanting social change. The next day on May 25 is a big day to raise awareness and voice on GMO food (I want to eat healthy and food choice is important for me). Here on this island, there is a bill 79 to limit GMO and I support that.

This workshop is for those who want to create social change through effective communication. We have been spending a lot of time to prepare the workshop. It is going to be valuable for community activists and concerned people for environment and food safety.

Here is the flyer. Please bring your friends on May 24, 5pm@Island Naturals, Kaiwi Street, Upstairs
in Kona. It is free(donations are welcome).

If you have any Japanese connection (friends), please send this post (in Japanese 日本語):
http://kikuchiyumi.blogspot.com/2013/03/aloha_29.html

You may know there are about 300,000 children (and 2 million people) living in Fukushima prefecture in Japan today, and at least 3 children have already developed thyroid cancer and 35% of children are reported to have some cysts, which may have been caused by the exposure to radiation.

The speed of children developing health problems in/around Fukushima is faster and serious than the case of Chernobyl accident in 1986 in Ukraine.

We are very concerned about the wellbeing of children in Fukushima who have not been able to play outside since the nuclear accidents after March 11, 2011 East Japan Great Earthquake (and tsunami). Four (only one inChernobyl) broken reactors of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plants are still critical conditions and no one really knows how to stop the radiation from leaking into the environment.

All they can do is to keep cooling the melted nuclear fuel to prevent recriticality accident. I am sorry for those workers at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants daily exposing themselves to radiation to save all of us.

I work with Marian Moriguchi (Assist One) in Fukushima, for recruiting children
Vicky Nelson www.loveneverfailsjapan.com, in East side of Hawaii,
Gen Morita www.moritagen.blogspot.com in West side of Hawaii
and others on this effort of bringing Fukushima kids to Hawaii.

This effort is one of many such efforts by civilian sectors as Japanese government is doing opposite saying it is safe to live in Fukushima and those who had been evacuated should go back to Fukushima.

I do not agree with Japanese government as the levels of radiation in some parts of Fukushima is too dangerous for children to live healthy life. Check the following prominent doctors and specialists opinion (those who I trust knowing them for years) who would refute Japanese government claim:
Helen Caldecott
Yuri Bandazhevsky
Arnie Gundersen

AFKHP aims to host children from Fukushima during Japanese school vacations (there are summer, winter and spring vacations) starting from this summer (August) 2013 in the Big Island, half time in Kona, half time in Hilo and a few days in Honolulu. We would like the kids to play freely in the beautiful nature of Hawaii, and cultivate good relationship with people and nature of Hawaii.

This summer (August 2013) is our first such effort and we would like to host 20 or so children for 1 month or so in Hawaii, about 10 days in Kona, about 10 days in Hilo, and about 5 days in Honolulu.

We are seeking for support from the community in Hawaii and donation from around the world who care and who can.

Easiest support is send a donation, $10 or $10,000 does not matter, whatever you can afford.

We have a PayPal account: [email protected]
Please let us know by e-mail that you want to support Fukushima kids.

In the USA, we can receive donations by personal and bank checks, too:

The check made out to: Harmonics Life Center Hawaii
can be send to: Harmonics Life Center c/o Morita
75-286 Hoene St., Kailua Kona, HI96740

In Japan, you can make a donation by Yubin-Furikae at any post office to:
Harmonics Life Center : 00110-1-144224
write: Aloha Fukushima Kids in the comment space.

And make sure to let me know by e-mail:
[email protected]!

Support can be in many levels.

Simply you can spread this project.
Here is the link in English.
Japanese link is here.

Spreading words may be the most essential of all.

There are more things you may be able to do:

Do you have fun with kids? Then you can play with them.
You can teach Hawaiian culture, hula, lei making, Hawaiian traditional cooking, etc.
You can take kids to the beach and swim together.
You can teach English or learn Japanese from Fukushima kids.
You can donate money to help the families who are participating in this program.
You can donate fresh organic food from your garden or local market.
You can be a host family for 1 or 2 kids.
You can take kids to hiking.
You can be a driver. This is important and essential, too.

Whatever you can or you want to do, please let me know by e-mail so that I can coordinate your time, skills and resources into helping kids in Fukushima. Let them spend a wonderful and meaningful time here in Hawaii this summer and many more summers (winters, spring vacations) after.

I estimate the cost of hosting one child from Fukushima for a month in Hawaii can be 3~4,000 USD including airfares (as the summer airfare from Japan to Hawaii is the highest of the year). If we get airfare discounted or donated, it would be much less, may be $2000. The cost of transportation, food, lodging and programs can be donated by those who are capable and willing to donate their time, rooms and skills, or if we can raise enough money (and awareness), we would like to compensate those volunteers so that this program can be sustainable for everyone involved.

I am grateful for your care and support for Fukushima (and the world) children.

mahalo nui loa,
arigato gozaimasu

Yumi Kikuchi and Gen Morita
I paste it below so that you can read and learn from him.

I try to avoid MSG by making meals and desserts from scratch (fresh vegetables and fruits).

We better pay attention to what we eat because "We are what we eat" and those artificial food and chemicals that are harmful to us also destroy environment when they are made and disposed.

----------------------------

Most doctors, dieticians, and the public know very little about the toxic effects of MSG. The multi-billion dollar processed food industry and MSG producers pay lobbyists to make all of us believe MSG is safe.

MSG destroys the nerve cells of the brain and 50 percent or more of the population is experiencing the harmful effects of what the medical community has called the "MSG Symptom Complex."

Yet, many of us are unaware of that. MSG is not just used in oriental restaurants, but in restaurants and most bagged, bottled, frozen, boxed, canned, or commercially prepared foods. Additives such as hydrolyzed protein, textured vegetable protein, yeast extract, autolyzed yeast, torula yeast, and anything modified, can contain as much as 50 percent MSG and need not be labeled as such.

Dr. Emoto asked me to organize his lectures in Hawaii, so I did what I can. Here is the flyer an excellent designer in Australia designed:

I have organized many events in Japan, but this is my first time to organize such an evnet in Hawaii.

Dr. Emoto is the world-famous "Water Messanger". Even if you do not know him, you may have seen this beautiful picture.

(愛、感謝 or aloha and mahalo)in Japanese.

I was privileged to be an interpreter last year when Dr. Emoto gave a key note speech at the World Congress of Quantum Medicine in Honolulu. As a result, he asked me to organize his talks in the big island of Hawaii.

Unlike Japan, I had no idea what kind of halls are available and how much they cost, how you sell tickets (there are no Lawson nor Ticket Pia that sells tickets for you in Japan), who I can ask making flyers, posters and how much is the printing.....I knew nothing, but I came this far by choosing a small step at a time.

If you are planning a vacation in Hawaii, please make it around March 2 and 3 in the Big Island!

Yesterday, we had a family celebration for having each other, food on the table, roof on our head, and honest, open, intimate relationship like we have.

We had a young women from Japan in our house for a month and it has become a bit of stress as she practices a mediation with vocal mantra day and night. I asked her if she could meditate silently, but she said no and kept doing it as she wished. Because of her presence, my children's sleep was getting affected and they were unhappy.

Our house is open for people who want to learn Harmonics Healing and sustainable living. It is not a hotel nor B&B, it is a learning center. But she has not been taking our classes and kept practicing her own mediation daily.

So we finally asked her to leave (she was supposed to leave last month, but it has been delayed because her god told her to stay).

She left yesterday and we celebrated that. My children were so relieved because they felt uneasy being with her.

As she left, she told us her god said no need to pay for her stay and she did not. What kind of god is that?, I thought.

But I am so glad she left as I could sleep so deeply last night. I did not realize how stressful it was for me to have her in our house for a month.
There were too many problems and destructions and there seemed not much a could do. All of problems were getting worse year by year. I then thought we, human being , were like cancer cells of the earth, so we should go extinct!

I was wrong. I found it out myself when I started living in the country of Kamogawa, Chiba in 1998. I left my city life and started a totally unknown and new life in an old abandoned farm in a mountain of cedar forest with my partner Gen.

We started to grow what we eat all organically, rice, vegetables, fruits and mushrooms (and later even children). In a few years, we were growing more rice than we could eat in one year, yes, we were nearly self-sufficient. We were so happy and so healthy. And then, I noticed there were fireflies around our house, which were not before we lived there. We made a gutter where our used water was carried to the vegetable garden and rice paddy. In that gutter, fireflies were living.

I was so happy and so amazed. I knew fireflies needed clean water. So, our waste water was clean enough for fireflies. It was true I did not use any chemical detergent nor even a soap. I just used warm water and sometimes salt to wash dishes.

Then came the fireflies.

I realized humans were not cancer cells. We could be, but we could be different too. If we chose a way of living that is not polluting (by this, I mean chemically polluting or radioactively polluting, something that eco system can not take care of), we can actually make the environment better or richer.

We started planting many fruit trees. Some for the bird and wild animals and some for ourselves.

Soon I realized I had become much more healthy, vital and younger, too. This realization was so inspiring for me. If I chose to live making my environment (water, etc) clean, I become more healthy and beautiful.

Wow!

I am one with the Earth. If I chose a way of life that makes me beautiful, it also make the earth beautiful. At the same time, if I am careful not to pollute the water, soil and air, as a result, I become more healthy and beautiful.

I and the Earth are one. You and the Earth are one. So, we are one.

This is such a great realization for me. When I look at people, I try to remember this. No matter what is going on between me and that person, I am one with that person as long as I live on this planet Earth.

I am no longer a cancer cell of the planet. I am a change agent. Gandhi said you must be the change you wish to see in the world. I am the one to make the planet more healthy and beautiful by making myself more healthy and beautiful.

So are you.

Isn't this great?
I turned a half the age of how long I want to live. The former half of my life is over and I am starting the latter part of my life, so, I needed to take better care of my body and health.

I have missions to accomplish. I want to keep working to create more sustainable society here in Kona and in Japan. There is so much to do and I need at least 30 or more healthy years to accomplish what I started doing before I leave this body.

Even though we had grown most of what we ate in Japan organically and also trying to do the same here in Kona, Hawaii, which is quite healthy, you still need to exercise regularly to keep your body in good shape. I confess I have stopped all kinds of sports for nearly 30 years.

So, I had less muscle and more fat when I joined the club. And 3 months later, I think I have more muscle and less fat.

SO, joining a fitness club in another country(USA) was quite a big leap for me, but my Japanese friend in Kona invited me to a ZUMBA class, which I had no idea what it was, but now I enjoy so much. I had never heard of ZUMBA in Japan. It is like an aerobics dancing in Latin Music. I love latin music so it was perfect combination for me: dancing in latin music.
Her stamina is amazing and she has such a beautiful and powerful body, and of course, as a woman, I wanted to be like her.

So, if you want to visit Hawaii and to join me to Super Fitness retreat, please e-mail me.

The retreat is 7days(6nights) minimum and longer, that includes lodging, 2 raw food meals a day, fitness club (class) fees, pick up at the airport, transportation to and from the club daily, taking you to the airport (Kona). Gen and I will share what we have learned from Bay NVC (Non Violent Communication) and I will lecture on food and environment, tips on how to stay healthy in more contaminated world (more radiation and chemicals). We also will check what your body is wanting (and not wanting) to be healthier by LET (Life Energy Test).

I look forward to having you at our house in the center of Kona, Harmonics Healing Hawaii. Our garden is small but we grow many vegetables and fruits, and even started growing rice! You can experience an abundant life and nature of Hawaii in town!

You will witness how much you can grow in a small garden, and you will be inspired. And by the end of this retreat, you will be energized, more healthy and maybe in better shape than before.Yumi Kikuchihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03425678371041179827[email protected]0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10570628.post-30739464395925505682012-05-04T07:33:00.000+09:002012-05-04T07:40:31.267+09:00Celebrate Japan's ZERO nuclear power plant day: May 5, 2012I am so thrilled and overjoyed by the fact on the midnight of May 5, 2012 Japan time, Hokkaido Electric Company will shut down Tomari #3 nuclear reactor for the regular check up, meaning the last operating nuclear power plant in Japan is stopping.

We have 54 nuclear plants in Japan and now only one plant in Hokkaido is operating, no plant in Honshu, Shikoku and Kyusyu islands are operating, which is a surprise to many people around the world.

They ask, "How can Japan manage without nuclear power? It has no other energy and needed nuclear energy to meet its demand!".

Well, the truth is that every nuclear power has its back up power plant and we do not need to use nuclear power at all in Japan if we chose so. Even without using these back up plants, by operating existing hydro and fossil fuel power plants, we have enough capacity to cover Japanese energy demand.

This fact is finally getting to be known to ordinary citizens, who have been deceived over 3 decades.
We just believed we could not live without nuclear power plants as we have been told so for too long by too many sources: governments and media.

But it was not TRUE at all.

In fact, after 3.11 Fukushima accident 2011, Tokyo electric company has been supplying enough energy with most of its nuclear power shutting down since 3.11. They have only 3 nuclear reactors operating out of 17 reactors after 3.11, 2011. We have had no energy shortage since then.

They used natural gas, petroleum, coal and hydro power instead. I would prefer they increase natural gas combined cycle power plants as they are the most efficient existing and reliable energy sources in Japan.

How long have I been waiting for this day of ZERO nuclear power plant in Japan?---For decades.

Since the day I first learned about the danger of nuclear power plants and its waste, which we have no place to put or no technology to manage.

Since the day I learned nuclear power plants needed workers always exposed to some amount of radiation.

Since the day I learned about Japan's nuclear reactors were not strong enough to withstand big earthquakes over 600 gals, and Japan's big earthquakes exceed 600 gals.

Since the day I learned about the children living around nuclear power plants are more susceptible to leukemia and cancer even if there is no accident, as small amount of radiation is released every single day to the environment.

May 5 in Japan is Children's Day. I think this is the best gift Japan can give to the world children and future generations. So, please join us for the big celebration. I mean to ask/help our government to go more sustainable and ecological energy choices. Join me in this effort.

The zero operating nuclear power plant in Japan does not mean that our government gave up nuclear power. It is just the regular check up, and they would like to restart operation as soon as they have agreements from local governments (governors) that have nuclear power plants, such as Fukui, Shizuoka, Ehime, Niigata, Shimane, Ibaragi, Saga, Kagoshima, Miyagi, Aomori and Hokkaido.

But Japanese people have learned how much harm just one server nuclear accident can cause to the people's lives and nature. Our voice and awareness against nuclear power is raising steadily.

On that day here in Kona, Hawaii (May 4, 6pm), I am inviting people to celebrate the ZERO nuclear power of Japan at Harmonics Life Hawaii. If you live in/near Kona, please contact me by e-mail. It is a potluck so bring a dish you like.
