Before you register to attend a meeting, please read the below participation guidelines.
W3C meetings operate under the Principles and Procedures of our Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
To be eligible to register and attend, you must be one of the following:
Observer: Eligible participants may request to attend as Observer via the registration form. Observing is at the Chair's discretion, based on space considerations, confidentiality, and the ability to conduct the business of the group. Please contact the WG or IG Chair (see Chair contact information). Observer seating is limited and usually organized as "secondary seating without power" around the perimeter of the room.
Note: We advise you to secure permission to attend a meeting as an Observer before making any travel plans.
In 2014 we introduced "unstructured time" in the middle of each day. Some groups had requested a common time to break into parallel task forces within their groups, for more cross-group interaction opportunities, and for hallway conversations. Ad-hoc time can be used or not used by working groups in their allocated meeting space.
The unstructured time will be from 15:00-18:00 to avoid breaking up the middle of the day. This is the time slot for the AC Meeting [*] on Tuesday and Thursday, so we recommend that groups with participating AC Representatives plan their agendas in a way that enables those individuals to attend the AC Meeting.
Groups may also use this time slot for their traditional meeting agenda.
Please, refer to the Ad-hoc meetings wiki for scheduling.
Participants in a W3C Working, Interest or Community Group, Advisory Committee Representatives, the TAG, the Advisory Board, Offices Staff and Team are invited to participate in the Plenary Day.
Unconference/breakout is the preferred format of the Technical Plenary Day.
Refer to the Breakout sessions wiki to start brainstorming in advance of the meeting.
To be eligible to register and attend the Tuesday and Thursday Advisory Committee Sessions and dinner, you must be one of the following:
To ensure a comfortable lunch experience, we will work with group Chairs to stagger lunch schedules.
Visit the exhibition stands in Hall 4 during breaks and lunch time every
day.
We plan to use MIT's Webex system for remote participation.
Webex instructions will be mailed to people that register to attend the Advisory Committee meeting remotely.
Before you register, please read Participation Policies and Recommendations

A daily fee helps W3C offset the cost of these meetings. The daily fee applies to anyone who is attending meetings, whether as a participant or as an observer, Monday through Friday. However, if you are an AC Rep and on Tuesday, you plan to attend only the dinner (not the afternoon session), you do not need to pay the fee for Tuesday.
The per person, per day fees are as follows:
*Important Notice: We strongly advise against people making flight arrangements before confirming their meeting registration and payment by 2 September 2016. Each year, we make an effort to accommodate on-site registrants, however, we cannot guarantee that space will be available this year.
Please pay when you register – Registration is not complete until you have paid. Registrations that remain unpaid after advance registration closes 2 September will be charged 180 EUR per day.
Payments will be processed through a payment system (requires W3C member account).
If you do not have a W3C member account, use this payment system link.
You will receive a receipt if payment was successful. If you experience problems with the registration page, please contact [email protected].
Cancellations and requests for refunds must be received by 17:00 ET on 26 August 2016. Refund requests will not be honored after that time. Refunds will be subject to a 20 EUR service charge.
