Country Music Awards 2024 Red Carpet: All the Looks and Winners
On Wednesday, the biggest night for country music — the 58th annual Country Music Awards — unfolded. So giddy on up and read on for everything you need to know, from who won to all the best looks and dresses from the red carpet.
So who won a CMA?
Leading the nominations was Morgan Wallen, who ended up taking home the award for Entertainer of the Year. However, Wallen wasn’t present to accept, and while he hasn’t come out to share why he wasn’t in attendance, it’s worth noting that this was the first year in several that the artist had been nominated. The past several years, he was banned from the CMAs for using a racial slur. So while it seems the CMAs were ready to move on, maybe Wallen is holding a grudge? Other winners included Chris Stapleton, who won Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the year; Cody Johnson, who won Album of the Year; Lainey Wilson, who won Female Vocalist of the Year; and Megan Moroney, who won Best New Artist.
Who performed at the CMAs?
Like the Grammys, the night featured performances from the biggest artists including Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Kacey Musgraves, Post Malone, Shaboozey, and Kelsea Ballerini featuring Noah Kahan.
Who else was at the CMAs?
Simone Biles showed up to present an award, and looked fabulous while doing it. Peyton Manning was there to host. Post Malone showed up in a cowboy hat to perform. And not so surprisingly, singer Zach Bryan sat this CMAs out; he has been in hot water since his breakup with influencer Brianna Chickenfry, who has since come out to accuse him of emotional abuse.
Did anyone mention Beyoncé at the CMAs?
The question on everyone’s mind and the one being asked in all the group chats. While it was highly unlikely of Beyoncé to attend the CMAs, especially since she was shut out of nominations, I at least expected a shout-out. But it is important to note the success Cowboy Carter had, especially since Beyoncé became the first Black woman to ever have a No. 1 country album. Alas, the CMAs have some catching up to do, but here’s to still hoping something good comes about after tonight (a.k.a. an apology to Queen B).
