I’m currently hunkered down in my apartment bracing myself for a winter storm, so it brings me great joy to be writing about my favorite cozy sweatpants (yes, I’m wearing a pair right now). I’m five-foot-eight and have long legs, so it’s rare that size small sweatpants are the right length on me, but these pass the test (and don’t ride up throughout the day). I can even roll down the waistband for a more relaxed look without them being too short! The classic heather grey is perfect, but the Accolades are also available in several other neutral colors and a limited-edition bright green. I suggest wearing these in the fall and winter months, as they’re supersoft to the touch and a bit too cozy for summer.
If you’re looking for a more elevated pair of sweats that can be worn to brunch with sneakers and a tank, you’ll love this wide-leg pair from Reformation. Since they’re not cinched at the ankles, these sweatpants go beyond the bounds of traditional loungewear and can be styled more like jeans or trousers if necessary. The medium-weight fleece fabric (made from 100 percent organic cotton) is super-versatile and ideal for year-round wear.
Sustainably made from recycled materials, these sweatpants are warm and supremely soft. They feature a straight, slim fit that people who aren’t into the bulky-sweatpants look will appreciate. I’ve gotten so much wear out of mine over the years even though they’re a little bit short — size up if you’re tall or prefer a more oversize fit. The army-green pair I have are no longer available, but you can still shop these turquoise ones, as well as navy blue, heather grey, dusty rose, and brown colorways.
The softest of the supersoft sweats, these jogger-style sweatpants are the newest addition to my Sunday-morning uniform. They feature a thin elastic waistband that never feels too snug, plus they’re made from breathable and ultralightweight cotton that feels so cozy but not too hot. If the gold-heart detail isn’t your style, SPRWMN also makes plain straight-leg sweatpants and a fleece pair that’s embroidered with their brand logo.
Pangaia’s tiny branding makes these sweats instantly recognizable, and the vibrant purple color makes them stand out in my loungewear drawer. They’re made from a heavy-weight blend of organic and recycled cotton that feels durable and built to last — I’ve had mine for almost two years and they’ve still never lost their shape. I also own the matching hoodie and would definitely recommend it.

But trust us when we say that Kylie Jenner’s new venture Khy also makes sweatpants that feature a flattering, trouser-like fit. If you prefer a more tailored look, opt for these straight-leg ones over the Good American wide-leg pair.
