Followed by the likes of Sofie Pavitt and Raquel Medina-Cleghorn, Angela Caglia might be your favorite aesthetician’s favorite aesthetician. Her bespoke facials and game-changing products like her Cell Forté Serum are some of the details that have likely attracted an A-list clientele — think Barbra Streisand, Sting, and more.
And it only makes sense that she’s amazing at what she does, as Caglia, who holds a business degree in cosmetic formulation from UCLA, has been in the business ever since getting her aesthetician license in San Jose, California, 30 years ago. Her love of skin care started in childhood. “I began young, mixing my grandfather’s fruits as face masks. I loved to see how bright my skin looked after removing them,” she says. “It was magic to me.”
As for what helps keep the magic alive these days? For Caglia, it’s all about inner confidence. “I have a 20-year-old daughter, and I tell her to surround herself with people who lift her up. I learned that later in life, unfortunately, and feel this helps with confidence; your inner circle is paramount. They lift, inspire, and support your journey,” she says. Her self-care rituals fuel her too: “It’s more about your wellness. Wellness rituals or acts can lower your blood pressure. As women, sometimes we overlook our own health. This is a part of my mission in life too. I want to empower confidence in women and also advocate for heart health.”
Below, Caglia details her beauty routines, thoughts on rest, and more.
.
A.M. Routine
I wake up and apply Cell Forté Serum. It has thousands of real growth factors, exosomes, and proteins to stimulate collagen synthesis, brighten, and hydrate, and is derived from human mesenchymal stem cells. It is a breakthrough in science.
I don’t wash in the morning (I haven’t for 25 years) because my skin was cleansed thoroughly the night before and regenerated while I slept. No need to disrupt the pH or skin, and I like to keep the natural essential fatty acids. I begin with Cell Forté Serum Powered by BIOMSC™️ stem-cell technology, Soufflé Moisturizer, and the Daily Botanical Serum Oil. That’s it. Maybe mascara if I’m going to give facials.
I love clean-beauty makeup because most other makeup contains silicones. I’m a big fan of Ilia, Kosas, and RMS. My friend and colorist Tracey Cunningham got me into Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner. I find it hydrating, and my hair is glossy when I use it. I also love my hot-pink Dyson hair-dryer. I can literally do my blowouts.
When it comes to the body, I am old school and love to use Dr. Bronner’s Castile Body Wash in peppermint. I order it on Amazon in the huge bottle. It’s refreshing, and I love peppermint to wake up in the morning.
.
P.M. Routine
I light candles and wind down with jazz music or classical. I always have fresh flowers in my home to add to the spalike atmosphere. I put away my phone and laptop every evening around 8 p.m. and talk with my husband. He’s my business partner as well, so it’s a time when we don’t work or talk business. We unwind together. Again, this goes back to my philosophy of wellness and health. We run a large skin-care line, and it can be stressful at times.
.
On the Beauty Item From Which She’s Noticed a Difference
I created my Cell Forté Serum to be the most effective serum using real stem-cell exosomes and bio-identicals. The results are addictive, and I don’t ever want them to stop. So that’s the one I can’t go without. It replaces retinol, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid and is a four-in-one.
.
On Rest
I unplug or read a good book an hour or so before bedtime. Sleep is very important for your health. It’s when your organs and whole-body regeneration happens. I prioritize this and get eight to nine hours a night usually.
.
On Movement
Movement is important for heart health, vitamin D, lymphatic drainage, and aging well. I’m working on flexibility and balance now to help with fall possibilities in my later years. I live in the hills of L.A., so it’s fun to walk my dogs every day, and I’ll go to Equinox four times a week for intense cardio and weights. What makes you feel good in your body in general and why is this important? Being in shape makes me feel good in my body for sure.
Most important is feeling good mentally, as this transcends all. They tend to go together. I love to cook at home and eat healthy, exercise, laugh, connect with people, challenge myself mentally, and get enough sleep. To me, that’s a good way to live. Having been an aesthetician for 30 years, I also finally feel I’m able to give back in a larger way with my new breakthrough, first-to-market human- stem-cell-derived serum, so this makes my life even sweeter. I just want to help women feel younger and more confident in their skin.
