THE hugely popular fantasy drama “The Legend of Canglan” is now available for experience at its first full-sensory VR (visual reality) work in Shenzhen.

Starring Yu Shuxin and Wang Hedi, the fantasy drama has over 10 billion views on the internet. “The Legend of Canglan·Full-sensory VR” game is jointly produced by X-META and iQIYI, one of the major streaming platforms in China.

When it debuted in Shanghai, “Opportunities in Time and Space ·X-META Full-sensory VR Paradise” topped Shanghai’s VR popularity charts. It has consistently held the No. 1 spot on Shenzhen’s gaming popularity rankings since it was introduced to Shenzhen four months ago. With a variety of themes and story-lines to choose from, players can immerse themselves in the VR world and experience a different life.

The VR experience is not limited to basic senses like sight, hearing, smell and touch. During the game play of the VR of the fantasy drama, players can feel the refreshing splash of water while sailing on a celestial boat, and experience the sensation of floating with both feet off the ground while riding through the clouds on a dragon’s claw. The experience lasts for 40 minutes, letting players traverse various scenes from the story of the drama.

Based on the narrative backgrounds of both the drama and the novel, “The Legend of Canglan·Full-sensory VR” introduces a new story-line, ensuing that even those who haven’t seen the fantasy drama can enjoy the experience without any problem. Players will transform into the main characters in the human realm, assisting the drama heroine Xiaolanhua in restoring the bone orchid, an amulet of the hero.

Before entering the VR world, players will interact with live non-player characters in a specially constructed real-world setting, where they can draw identities, learn celestial techniques, and team up to solve various puzzles. Covering a total area of 3,000 square meters at OCT Harbor in Nanshan Distritcc, “Opportunities in Time and Space X-META·Full-sensory VR Paradise” features two distinct venues: Ice Dragon and Fire Phoenix, boasting real-life scenes based on different themes to the VR experiences more enriching.
