My hometown Yangshan
    2021-12-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Huang Yongbin, Class 2, Senior 2, Shenzhen Xin’an Middle School Instructed by Tang Ying

As the popular saying goes, “Home is where the heart is.” My hometown is Yangshan County in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province.

Yangshan is surrounded by mountains that are quite tall and green all year round. The tallest mountain is called the Xianling Mountain. When I was a child, my family would climb the mountain to pay a visit to our ancestors and we had a bird’s-eye view of the whole of Yangshan County. The view was fantastic! The way to the top of the mountain is long and steep, and the narrow road we walked on was a cliff on one side and a rock wall on the other. When I was climbing up, I was so frightened that I was afraid that I would fall down at any moment! Therefore, I walked every step of the way with great care.

The weather in Yangshan County is suitable and pleasant. It’s sunny most of the year, so most people live in the county have the color of a healthy skin. In summer, the sunlight is very strong. The asphalt road can burn your feet if you step on it at noon.

At present, Yangshan County is developing at a high speed because of the poverty alleviation policy and the people’s living standards have been greatly improved. I went back to my hometown two years ago, and I found that many changes had taken place!

There are many tall buildings, several parks and schools. To my surprise, a well-planned villa area was established in the south of my hometown. To be honest, I almost got lost!

What amazed me most is the tremendous changes in the countryside.

Ten years ago, the countryside was poor and simple, with bull and chicken shit stuck on the ground everywhere.

Now it has become clean and beautiful. Moreover, it has a big lotus pond full of beautiful flowers, with two newly-established parking lots nearby. I was so happy to see that!

My hometown is the most beautiful sight that I remember in my memory. I will never forget Yangshan — the place that I call hometown. At the same time, I truly hope that my hometown can usher in a prosperous future!
