Port Moody’s Spacca Napoli is topping the charts (and the pies) as Canada’s best pizzeria. The humble restaurant has earned a prestigious 3 Spicchi ranking from Gambero Rosso, the global authority on Italian cuisine. This top-tier accolade recognizes excellence in authenticity, ingredients, and technique, and is apparently considered the pizza world’s equivalent of Michelin stars. As the only Canadian restaurant to achieve this distinction, Spacca Napoli has cemented its reputation as a must-visit destination for pizza lovers.
The story of Spacca Napoli began in the backyards of lifelong friends Davide Di Giovanni and Danny Pero, whose shared love for authentic Italian food grew into a mission to create Napolean pizza without compromise. Using imported Italian ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte cheese, the team honours traditional techniques to wood-fired perfection.
“This award is a testament to our commitment to preserving the art of Neapolitan pizza-making,” general manager Vita Di Giovanni shares in a statement, “and we’re thrilled to share it with our community.”
Spacca Napoli is located at 2801 St. Johns Street in Port Moody.
