The signature event of Vancouver Mural Fest kicks off tonight with curation by Ricecake, a collective whose objective is to uplift and amplify the voices of the Asian queer community in Vancouver. Since its inception, Ricecake has expanded to provide a safe community for all BIPOC LGBTQ2S+ folks.

Tonight (August 8), Ricecake will take over the main stage at the Mount Pleasant Street Party, and the lineup of performances and events will be absolutely stacked.

Hosted by Shay Dior and Hostion Ho with music by Bella Sie, expect to see circus, drag, dance and live singing. Want to get in on the fun? Joy Luck Club will also play mahjong on-site, while Sweet Neens allows you to shine via karaoke.

Throughout the next four days of the street party, there will also be a designated beer garden, plenty of local vendors and, of course, live art and murals on display.
