As part of the Plastic Pledge Lidl are changemakers

  • As part of objective 1 of the Plastic Pledge Lidl are minimising plastic use
  • Lidl moved from a hinged, rigid plastic lid to a lighter film on their pasta pots
  • This reduced the weight of the packaging and saved 16.5 tonnes of plastic

The Culinary Food Group

As a signatory of the Plastic Pledge The Culinary Food Group help to deliver recycling targets

  • As part of objective 2 of the Plastic Pledge The Culinary Food Group are innovative 
  • In 2023 they diverted 6 tonnes of plastic box liners from waste to recycling
  • This supports the delivery our plastic recycling targets

Aldi Ireland

Aldi Ireland are proud signatories of the Plastic Pledge

  • As part of objective 3 of the Plastic Pledge Aldi Ireland reduce packaging complexity
  • Aldi are the first major retailer to introduce a fully recyclable handwash pump
  • They removed glass and metal components from the pump making it fully recyclabe 
  • Saving 30 tonnes of packaging per year

Nestle

Nestle are helping to support a circular economy in Ireland

  • As part of objective 4 of the Plastic Pledge Nestle are driving a market for recycled plastic
  • In 2023 Nestle redesigned their two finger KitKat wrapper 
  • The redesign incorporated 80% recycled plastic
