Man thinks he's buying a micro-pig - but the reality is something VERY different

Hardware shop owner Pathadon Taesankul couldn't resist buying the adorable piglet at a wholesale market near his home

A man who thought he was buying an adorable micro pig to take home as a family pet was in for a quite a shock.

Hardware shop owner Pathadon Taesankul couldn't resist buying the adorable piglet at a wholesale market near his home.

The 25-year-old was assured by the shop owner the black and white cutie was a pygmy pig and wouldn't grow much bigger.

Pathadon immediately paid about £70 for the animal and proudly took his cute new pet home where, after discussing it with his wife, named the female animal “Junior” because of its diminutive size.

But just eight months later and the couple, from Bangkok in Thailand, have watched their beloved pet grow into a full-size, 16-stone pig.

However, the initial domestic arrangements where Junior stayed on the pavement outside the shop by day and in Pathadon’s bedroom by night, haven’t changed.

Pathadon said: “Junior is really intelligent and knows when it is time to ‘go to work’ and when it’s time to go to bed”

Junior’s diet is almost human too. His favourite foods are crisps and the super clever pig can even open his own packets.

Although his main meals consist of dishes such as fried rice and sausage – all washed down by a couple of litres of Coke….or, on occasion, Fanta.

Pathadon added: “Many people come to my shop just to see Junior. Although I wouldn’t have bought him if I knew he would get this big, I couldn’t let him go now – he’s part of the family we love him."
