Whether you're a nice guy or not and whether you tackle System Shock 2 beforehand or not (or (re)watch The Shining!), you owe it to yourself to own a copy of Bioshock.
Everyone will play it differently, and have a different experience. Some like myself will find it drenched in tension and atmosphere, having run into many a situation where the poop was scared out of me. Others, like a friend of mine, will claim that its intuitiveness, combative freedom, and creativity puts it above the spiritual predecessor "System Shock 2," and wonder at how convincing the whole affair can be.

A true evolution of the narrative driven FPS that Half Life, and Half Life 2 birthed. One of the few "must play" games for all gamers. Go in blind, and immerse yourself in the moody atmosphere, and dark story. An unparalleled achievement. No other game comes even remotely close to it in terms of raw emotional connection.
There is art here, despite what many would say isn't possible with games, from Roger Ebert to game designers like Hideo Kojima...BioShock stands as a monolithic example of the convergence of entertaining gameplay and an irresistibly sinister, engrossing storyline that encompasses a host of multifaceted characters. This is an essential gaming experience.
The atmosphere is second to none, the action frantic and fun, and the ease of access means you can play the game however you want without being punished for it.
While BioShock has an intriguing back story, the game’s episodic, mission-based structure lacks the propulsive momentum of games like "Half-Life" or "Max Payne." The story is better than that of many action games, but BioShock’s gameplay and visuals are so utterly brilliant that it is a shame it fails to reach the same level of greatness in its storytelling.
If only the mechanics matched the atmosphere. If only Rapture was a less linear world to move through. If only BioShock was the wholly brilliant experience you know, from your moments within it, it could have been.[Oct 2007, p.88]

Beaucoup d'originalité et d'idées mais l'exécution en termes de gameplay... le personnage est une horreur a contrôler les armes peux nombreuse les plasmide seront les seules armes fun a utilisé dans le jeu les seuls ennemis intéressant seront les Big Daddy pour le reste ce seront juste des variante des ennemis de base

You know, I played my fair share of games in my time, but Bioshock is nowhere near a 9, let alone a 10/10.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, it has good art direction and the story is engaging enough, it's just that as a whole doesn't hold the candle of being hold as a classic by any stretch of the imagination.

Over hyped, this game is not good. Vast ammo games are a buzz kill. I want to be able to make it through a level with enough ammo in my gun, and not have to beat someone with a wrench. Stupid idea, non modern old fashion games don't cut it for me. Yes if we look at the story it is clean and the graphics are nice, but that doesn't dismiss the fact that there is no appeal to this game. Nothing really attracted me to is and it has 0 replay value something that even people who like this can not deny.

Probably the most boring and overrated FPS I have ever played.
You cannot seriously boot this game up, play it, or watch it be played and look me in the eyes and tell me this is a 9.6/10. What a joke.
Where does that leave gaming reviews? When this old clunky mid game is rated higher than 99% of all titles? Really?
