We believe everyone should be able to live a healthy, thriving life free of disease, and we are passionate about serving all individuals, without bias or judgement. From HIV and malaria to emerging pathogens like Ebola to Zika virus, our internationally recognized faculty specialize in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases while also combating evolving health threats. As an academic subspecialty unit within the Department of Medicine, the Division of Infectious Diseases is deeply committed to training the next generation of infectious disease leaders through a broad range of education and research opportunities in North Carolina and around the world, through our affiliated Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases. We promote a culture where everyone feels valued, and we are proud of faculty, trainees and staff who work tirelessly for discovery and prevention, from community outreach to vaccine development.
