Who We Are
Kaleidoscope Farm is located on Bainbridge Island, Washington. It's close proximity to the puget sound provides optimal growing conditions for vegetables, fruits and ornamental flowers. Kaleidoscope is farmed by Heidi Urish, her husband Matt Martin, and their two daughters, along with a handful of close friends and volunteers.
Currently, the farm consists of two properties. The first of which originated as a field of invasive blackberries and scotchbroom. Heidi and her Matt began clearing and shaping this land in 2012 to fulfill a dream of growing organic, healthy food to sustain their family and share with their community. The second property is a rented parcel called 'K3' located at the the top of Belle Hill Road.
The mission of Kaleidoscope farm is to provide the Bainbridge Island community with fresh, local, organically grown produce. Our guiding principles are to take care of the earth, care for the people, and return the surplus. The farm is rooted in permaculture design principles and biologically intensive growing approaches, using ecologically sound and sustainable growing practices that include crop rotation, cover crops and companion planting. The farm is constantly thinking of innovative ways to balance land use and production, with beautification and regeneration, while building relationships with our customers and community.
