Maintenance:

In the Java Community Process, the expert group disbands after Final Release. The Maintenance Leads then take over the long-term maintenance of the specification, Reference Implementation, and Technology Compatibility Kit. Minor changes to the specification go through a Maintenance process, while major changes are deferred to a new JSR. In Maintenance, the Maintenance Leads track issues for the specification in the Issue list and then, when enough minor changes are ready, the Maintenance Leads propose a list of changes to the specification in a change log, which is then posted for Maintenance Review. After the Maintenance Review is approved, the Maintenance Leads may publish an updated version of the Specification, Reference Implementation, and Technology Compatibility Kit as a Maintenance Release.
