I ran with Lauren and Jess on Saturday! We were all out at the same time because of different things hurting, and then we have all started running again at about the same time. We aren’t happy that we each were injured, but we are very happy to have each other to try to get back into running shape again. None of us are complaining about taking as many breaks as needed because our heart rates are all at least 40 beats per minute higher than they were three months ago running faster paces.
Isn’t it fun how quickly it feels we lose fitness when it takes so long to earn it;)
Look at my watch trying to tempt me into speed training before my body is ready to… Doesn’t my watch know it is December and I actually have high recovery needs than any other month?!
Throwing in a winter tip to put your headbands into the wash after each run, my skin girl taught me this last year to help avoid more breakouts.
My other winter running tip for you today is to wear trail shoes when there is fresh snow. It helps so much with traction and to avoid falling on my face. When there is too much ice, hit the treadmill or take the day off. Our heads are too important. Don’t be like me in 2014. This hurt so bad. I’m pretty sure I had a slight concussion from this fall…
We decided to go and see an early showing of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at the theater, and it was so cute. The kids all loved it, too.
I have a deep love for movie theater popcorn. I will choose it over candy for a movie any day which would make my 20 year old self choke from shock.
Beck had ski school for 2.5 hours! He acted like he was such a big deal as he walked away with his teacher.
We went (with Andrew, too) to the back mountain!
Skye skied her first black diamond EVER. She talked us into it, and when she finished, she said, “I can’t believe how good I am at skiing.” Skiing is quite the investment (although we’ve already gone skiing enough to pay off the season passes, ha), but it’s one of those things that I hope will allow them to always feel so much gratitude towards their bodies for the things we get to see and do with them.
Beck’s instructor had Beck skiing turns down the greens all on his own!
Andrew and I were able to get out on a date.
Pizzeria 712 for everything but the pizza. I mean, the pizza there is so good but I go for the apps and pasta.
It was a normal Sunday around our house.
I slept so much on Sunday. I couldn’t get enough. And we finished up with puzzles and the hot tub.
I’m so glad you are here! I hope you’ll stay awhile. Let’s get to know each other and bond over running, family, food, goals, and all the randomness that comes with life.
