The 1st edition of the EUhackathon revolved around two tracks, namely an Internet Quality Track, that focused on allowing users to better understand the quality of Internet they are getting from their fixed or mobile operator on the one hand, and Global Transparency Track, that focused on better visualising the accessibility of information on the Internet on the other hand, and took place on 8-9 November 2011 in Brussels, Belgium.

The 2nd edition of the EUhackathon revolved around two challenges, namely creating tools to enhance the safety of kids online on the one hand, and to stimulate their creativity on the other hand, and took place on 20-21 June 2012 in Brussels, Belgium.

The 3rd edition of the EUhackathon revolved around creating tools to visualize government surveillance activities and hence increase awareness and transparency, and took place on 24-25 September 2013 in Brussels, Belgium.

The 4th edition of the EUhackathon revolved around creating tools to increase participation & transparency in the EU, and took place on 2-3 December 2014 in Brussels, Belgium.

The 5th edition of the EUhackathon revolved around creating tools to increase eSkills in the EU, and took place on 17-18 November 2015 in Brussels, Belgium.

The 6th edition of the EUhackathon revolved around visualising copyright evidence to inform the policy debate and support the decision making process, and took place on 15-16 November 2016 in Brussels, Belgium.
