Situated at one of the highest points of Fresnaye featuring undiluted views of the Atlantic Ocean, this double-volume penthouse tops the Berman Brothers Group development called The Estate. It comprises three en-suite bedrooms with accompanying walk-in wardrobes, two living and dining areas, two bars, a steam room and sauna, wine cellar, and an indoor-outdoor entertainment area with a pool.
The brief sought Inhouse Design Studio to create an uber luxurious penthouse with expansive entertainment areas, functional open-plan living and dining spaces, and extensive white wall panelling to showcase the owner’s vast collection of South African art.
Split over the fifth and sixth floors, the penthouse boasts a unique interior that is a blend of two distinct styles: contemporary and classic. The fifth floor, housing all the bedrooms, functions as a more private living space and dons classic contemporary finishes and a neutral colour palette that exudes an airy, uplifting ambience with a sense of grandiose. Natural oaks juxtapose white marbles in the living space, while textured furnishings offer a homely dimension. An extensive living, dining and bar area lead to a kitchen, scullery, and cold room that are concealed from guests. Bedrooms look onto ocean vistas while towering glass doors open fully to connect to spacious balconies.
The sixth floor dons modern contemporary finishes dressed in a darker colour palette, exuding a moodier ambience than the fifth floor. The spacious kitchen, living, and bar areas are flooded with views of the ocean and Lion’s Head, while surrounding glass doors create a seamless connection to the outside. Designer furnishings by the likes of Anatomy Design and Gregor Jenkins command the space, while Simpletech technology places every control, from audio-visual lights to music and more, in the palm of one’s hand. It’s the ultimate luxury penthouse.
