This Oasis model Accessory Trailer Unit tiny home was the second ATU my brother and I ever build together. We worked closely with the amazingly awesome clients that we now call friends to create something that was uniquely theirs (despite them initially seeing the first Oasis and saying "we want that! we want exactly that!"
Each unit that we build is going to have creative changes and dare I say... improvements.
The Oasis model is known for its charm and slight whimsicalness with the round windows and bubble windows while still being contemporary AND timeless. A cottage feel with a clean bright crisp interior. The roof and ceiling above the entrance and loft is rounded so the curves don't stop at the windows. The curved roof is actually re-purposed corrugated catchment tank panels. The roof pitches alternate giving this model a much more interesting look from the outside, and also creating different spaces/rooms within. The steep angled A-frame style pitch over both the bathroom and to the opposite end, the living space, give balance between sharp angles and smooth welcoming curves. The windows are "interactive" with a locally sources live edge mango bar slab inside at the round window and also outside at the kitchen pass-through awning window. Custom cabinetry with toe-kick storage and a built-in storage staircase (half spiral staircase) offer many nooks for keeping things like clothes, vacuum, broom, food, bedding, etc. The curved roof and exposed beams in the loft give plenty of headroom for the queen size mattress to sit atop a storage bed-frame with 6 storage drawers. The deep blue tile of the kitchen backsplash and the water blue tile in the shower are the owners favorite color which works perfectly with all of the white in this Hawaii setting where they have a view of the Ocean from the round window. The shower has a clear roof above acting as a skylight. You get to sunbathe while showering and give yourself the feeling of being outside with some ferns up above thriving in the humid setting. Triangular corner shelving and vanity create a spacious flow without any angles to bump into; it really opens up the space more. The bathroom feels much larger than its 8x4 dimensions, not only because of the corner vanity but the fact that the shower is bumped-out from the center of the room centered through the pocket door. the bathroom is no longer a rectangular shape but something much more unique and grand. A rounded glass shower door and the frosted glass bathroom pocket door keeps natural light from the skylight and windows pouring into the space. Stainless steel appliances and stainless steel countertops are so cool, clean and reflective. the main entry and living space had not only the dining bar but a work desk and a love-seat that pulls out for extra sleeping arrangements. A fun a addition to this ATU was a net hammock/loft above the round window in the living room. You access the net with teak grab-bars and corner shelving that doubles as a ladder- it definitely adds a fitting nautical vibe and offers more lounge space while letting light through, unlike a traditional loft space. The Oasis model ATU tiny home is built on an 8x24' trailer and currently is parked on the Kona side of the Big Island. We hope to keep building and designing spaces like this, always improving and being creative. This is a one-of-a-kind custom "certified authentic" designer space by Ellie K Design and built by Paradise Tiny Homes.
