Camping Out

The client requested security, surveillance, access control, a robust network, whole-home lighting, distributed audio and video indoors and outside, a living space theater, and a golf simulator. This design was challenging because the home was already finished, the client would soon be moving in, and the size and scope of the project were rather extensive. Quality Audio Video (QAV) delivered on the requirements by using Crestron Home to integrate all of the features seamlessly. QAV retrofitted the entire home with Crestron Horizon keypads to provide useful whole-home lighting control and automation in a sophisticated contemporary design with advanced capability. Distributed audio was tricky, but QAV accomplished everything the client needed by using a Crestron DM-NAX-8ZSA in the equipment room to handle the lower-level, upper-level, and exterior audio zones with the preexisting speaker wires. Then QAV retrofitted brand new speaker wires to the kitchen, dining, and main level with a Crestron DM-NAX-8ZSA in the kitchen pantry. The living space theater was awarded Leon Speakers Install Of The Year this year and features meticulous carpentry and Dolby Atmos surround sound and Kaleidescape for the best and most immersive user experience. QAV worked with about Golf on the simulator room for a full custom and well-designed space, allowing homeowners to work on their golf game year-round!

Crestron was the right fit for this project because QAV needed a modern and user-friendly smart home experience that could be deployed rapidly with fewer programming hours than what would typically be associated with a system of this caliber. The result is a Crestron system with rich features for lifestyle and life-safety controls that are trimmed out with beautiful finishes. The biggest benefit for the homeowners is the ability to control the entire house from anywhere, anytime. They can press a button and adjust the lights and related environmental controls rather than at home and winding down for the night or traveling from afar. The result is an elevated lifestyle experience with technology features that support entertaining friends and family, enjoying the latest movie, chillaxing to a playlist in the Eames lounge chair, or improving your golf-game year round.

This project is unique for the extensive size and scope of this system in a brand-new but already-finished home with little to no low-voltage infrastructure to support a scope of this caliber.
