KARACHI, Feb 6: The City District Government Karachi officials have made all arrangements to open the Bagh Ibne Qasim, the country’s largest and most beautiful park according to city horticulture officials, if President Pervez Musharraf who is due to inaugurate Karachi’s signal-free corridor on Thursday decides to inaugurate this project as well, informed sources told Dawn.

President Musharraf is scheduled to inaugurate the city’s signal-free corridor from Shahrah-i-Faisal to Nazimabad on Thursday and may inaugurate the park the same day,” a CDGK official said.

Officials say the work on the Bagh has concluded and a minor maintenance work is in progress.

According to well-placed sources, the city authorities have been waiting for nearly a month as to when the president will be available to formally open it for the public.
