First trailer for Atari E.T. dig movie released
The soon to be shuttered Xbox Entertainment Studios showed the first peek at the film about this spring's successful dig for thousands of Atari E.T. cartridges buried in New Mexico in 1983.
If you weren't lucky enough to be among the hundreds of people who watched crews brave heavy winds at a New Mexico trash dump in April for the successful hunt for a horde of Atari E.T. game cartridges buried in 1983, you can now get your first peek at the action.
Today at San Diego Comic-Con, Xbox Entertainment Studios, which will soon be shuttered thanks to Microsoft budget cuts, announced the first trailer for "Atari: Game Over," the documentary about the once-high-flying video game company, and more specifically, the 1983 burial of what was thought to be thousands, or even millions, of E.T. game cartridges. The game was a financial disaster that's often credited with being one of the leading factors behind Atari's failure as a major company.
