CLEVELAND, Ohio -- National GOP Chairman Reince Priebus on Thursday announced more leadership behind the effort to organize the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

In a news release, Priebus announced the appointments of 57 GOP officials from across the country, as well as from overseas American territories, to the Committee on Arrangements, the GOP's official convention-organizing arm.

Most of the officials are national GOP committee members, with a few state party chairs sprinkled in.

Ohio is the only state on the list with more than one official representative on the convention-organizing committee.

Ohio GOP Chairman Matt Borges and Jim Dicke, a western Ohio businessman and GOP national committeeman, both will serve on the Committee on Arrangements. They join Jo Ann Davidson, Ohio's state committeewoman who previously was named the co-chair of the committee.

"Together, these individuals will implement a plan for the event that will make our entire party proud," Priebus said in a written statement. "I am also grateful for the support of the community of Cleveland and look forward to working with everyone toward an outstanding convention experience."

The party previously has named Jeff Larson as the Committee on Arrangements' CEO and Steve King, a former Wisconsin GOP chairman, as the committee's co-chair.
