I hear this question every single day. Yes, of course I do! That’s where I get 99% of my stock. I don’t usually buy entire collections; I carefully choose book that suit my shop.

The easiest way to show me what you have is by taking digital photos of the books on shelves or in stacks, so that the spine titles can be read, and emailing those to me. If you have fewer than a dozen books, call and read me the titles. Donations are also welcome!

It has been my great pleasure to serve up a delicious selection of cookbooks to customers near and far for the past 27 years.

If you’re wondering why the shop has been open less than usual these past several months, it’s because (after my shattered patella healed so well) I developed crippling sciatica. I had spinal fusion surgery on Nov. 1 and am now pain-free and on the mend. The catch is that for the next three months I can't bend or twist my back, or lift anything over 3 pounds. I'll have to ease back into bookselling, but I can hardly wait.

Meanwhile, my longtime assistant, Chris, aided by Michael and Troy, will open the shop as much as possible. If you have a question these gentlemen can’t answer, they’ll call me. The shop is nicely stocked up and I will have more books coming in over the next few months, but if you want to start your holiday shopping early, you’ll have plenty to choose from.

Private “shopportunities” can still be arranged, so you can shop in splendid solitude or an hour or two. Please give as much notice as possible.

GIFT CERTIFICATES can be purchased in person or ordered by phone or email.

My hours are posted here, and you can also check them by phone. Remember that my hours are not the same every week. If you can’t come in during open hours, make an appointment for a time that works for you.
