I bought this item on a whim, and I am not familiar with the associated website. Yes the little anecdotes are quite funny, though I will swear some of them I have heard before, they smack of urban legend....and it is a little bit distracting that every single one starts with "TODAY...."

The problem is if you want to give this book as a gift, it's not much bang for your buck. I seldom notice the quality of materials unless they're really good or really bad. This book is printed on extremely cheap quality paper bound by a cheap cover. I happened to order two other books at the same time which had similar prices, and the difference was profound.

It is a good laugh, but worth only perhaps 5 or 6 dollars tops. I thought if I liked it, I would get one to give to someone as a gift, but I've changed my mind. It'll make me look cheap.

I purchased this book yesterday while avoiding doing actual work at my job. I have been a fan of FML for quite some time- it one of the first apps I downloaded when I purchased my smart phone. When I downloaded the book I felt the same kind of excitement that I feel when I pull up the app to read new entries. I did enjoy the book, but I couldnt help but notice that a lot of the content in it appears on the app and website as well. I came across many stories that I had read before. It made me feel a little cheated because I paid for the book but it contained material that had been available for free. My suggestion to the developers would be to devise a system of separating submissions into "book worthy" and "web worthy". Not to say either is better than the other, but to keep the content of the book its own. I know this would require some effort / planning (since all submissions are user moderated before being reviewed by developers) but I'm sure it can be done. That way when people purchase the book, they're not spending money to see a mix of new stuff and old (and available for free) content as well. Overall, still a four star rating because I still laughed until I almost peed, and it provided a good distraction during the long and boring work hours.

(now that i dont have internet on my phone anymore, i havent checked the website in months, and i never have time or forget when im actually on the computer). anyways, this book takes a lot of the FMLs from the website, and i think only a handfull have not been posted on the website. however, it's still funny to read it over again. the drawings in the book are.. interesting. haha

Please read this stuff from their website instead. It probably feels more spontaneous and joyful there. The book wasn't very long, but it was a soulless slog through people's unhappy life situations. After a while, they seemed to repeat. My mom caught me abusing myself in the shower. FML. My girlfriend told me my breath smelled funny. FML. My boyfriend buried my cat but didn't do a complete job of it. FML. My mom keeps saying that she's not surprised I can't attract women at the age of 30. FML. I tried to do something good for someone but it fell through and it made me look stupid. FML.

A friend had this book and read some of the funny stories to me. I thought it would make a fun read for a friend going on a long plane ride, so I bought it, thinking I'd do a quick read before sending it off.

There are some funny stories in it, but for the most part, they are sad, pathetic, or just plain disgusting. Reading this would make one think the world must be full of ignorant, insensitive, immoral and just plain stupid people. There is nothing uplifting or beneficial, and the grotesqueness outnumbers the funny so as to make it insignificant. A complete waste of time, money, and good trees gone to waste.

同名のwebサイトの書籍版です。
"Today,"から始まり"FML"で終わる、"やっちゃった"日々の出来事をユーモラスに、そしてちょっとお下品に書かれた日記集。一つひとつの日記が数行で終わるので暇つぶしに最適ですし、(文学的でない）英語の読み物としても面白いですね。

「人の悪口を言っていたら本人が後ろにいた」
というレベルを遙かに超える"やっちゃった"日記の数々。読んでいて可哀そうになるくらい酷い物もありますが、そのどれもが笑ってしまえる物ばかりです。

ただ、タイトルからも分かりますが内容はお下品な物が多いです。
男女の性生活の話が結構出てきますので、あまりそういう話が好きでない人にはお勧め出来ないかもしれません。挿絵も絵柄は可愛いのですが、よく見るとお下品な物が…。ただ、性生活と言っても下ネタばかりでは無く、あくまで自虐的で、また女性の視点からの日記も多い（ほぼ半々くらいでしょうか）です。
どのような内容かは、サイトをご覧になると傾向が掴めると思います。

ネットに繋がなくても読める点、英語にふれる機会を増やせる点、気軽に笑える点は良いのですが、
やはりwebサイトの書籍化にしてはちょっと値段が気になりますので評価は3としました。
