The Executive Secretary noted that this Office is ACBF’s first attempt at decentralization in order to scale up engagement and build stronger relationships with  partner institutions and projects. He expressed his gratitude to the Government of Ghana and the AfDB for their roles in the establishment of this office. Open and free communication he noted, are important spirits for any organization therefore it is important for the Accra Office to establish systemized and open communication with the Harare Office. The meeting covered areas such as the ongoing visioning exercise, emerging areas of work in capacity building and human resource issues.

In his closing remarks, the Executive Secretary encouraged the team at the Regional Office to continue the good work, be positive and continue to pursue the interest of the Foundation.

The recognition of ACBF as the African Union’s Specialized Agency for Capacity Development launches the beginning of a new era for capacity building by ACBF, which will require an appropriate level of political commitment and financial support from all stakeholders.

The remarkable achievements ACBF has registered over the past 26 years is not by accident in our opinion. They have come through hard work, dedication, commitment, purposeful leadership, support from the member countries as well as productive partnership building.
