The Wisconsin Health and Educational Facilities Authority (WHEFA) proudly serves all eligible Wisconsin nonprofit organizations by providing access to tax-exempt financing to fund their capital improvement and expansion needs.
The WHEFA Members meet approximately 8-10 times per year as needed to approve the Projects.
TEFRA hearings are required for financings prior to WHEFA bond issuance.
WHEFA is an important economic partner for the State of Wisconsin, providing active capital financing assistance to all Wisconsin 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. WHEFA has supported borrowers in over 80% of Wisconsin counties, helping the state achieve increased success, economic development and continued job growth.
Since 1979, WHEFA has completed 972 financings in excess of $32 billion assisting borrowers in over 175 cities throughout Wisconsin and has issued more than $17 billion in new money capital projects, supporting more than 233,000 jobs in the Badger State.
