6 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (March 9 - Results & Review)

Some great action mixed with some familiar issues on AEW Collision.

Another weekend, another edition of AEW Collision in the books.

In the main event, Mark Briscoe called on long-time friend Jay Lethal and the nefarious Jeff Jarrett to help him battle the House of Black, while the CMLL invasion just about rumbled on with a couple of matches here. Those matches had the same problems that have accompanied several CMLL/AEW contests lately, but one of them managed to just about overcome these problems, while the other unfortunately did not.

Elsewhere, Bryan Danielson vs. Shane Taylor opened the show in snug fashion, with that match in itself leading to the announcement of a genuine dream match for AEW Dynasty next month. Yes, bruv, indeed...

This week's AEW Collision also saw the in-ring debut of what's being dubbed the New Elite, as Kazuchika Okada tagged with the Young Bucks in a contest that also featured some headline-grabbing post-match action. Likewise, Mariah May vs. Trish Adora was followed by the Toni Awards and the realisation that Deonna Purrazzo very much is not finished with Toni Storm. Rounding out Collision, Adam Copeland made his return, while his real-life buddies FTR got the ball rolling with the upcoming tournament for the vacant AEW Tag Team Titles.

While there was some great action here, there were also sadly some familiar issues that reared their head again. So, let's get to it.

As Elton John has long told us, Saturday night's alright for fighting...
