Materials -

1 Pair US Size 9 needles (metric size 5)
Pillow or toy acrylic stuffing
Yarn sewing needle

Gauge - 19 sts = 5 inches (approximately)

Before beginning, divide one of the balls of yarn in half, winding each half into balls.

Directions -
Starting at bottom point of heart, with 2 strands of yarn held together, cast on 3 sts.
Purl the first row.
Row 2- Inc 1 st in first stitch, knit across, inc 1 st in last st.
Row 3- Purl across
Repeat rows 2 & 3 until there are 35 sts on needle.
Now starting on the knit side, knit one row, purl one row 4 times (8 rows)
Divide for heart "humps "-
Knit across first 17 sts, place remaining sts on holder. Purl back on these first 17 sts.
On these 17 sts only, knit one row, purl one row.
Start decreasing. *
Next row, K 2 tog, knit across, to last 2 sts, k 2 tog.
Purl next row.
Repeat these last 2 rows until there are 7 sts remaining, ending on the last decrease row of k 2 tog each end. * Bind off on purl side row.

Slip sts from holder for opposite side of heart hump. Join yarn at center of heart , on knit side, and knit the first 2 sts tog. Knit across. Purl next row. Knit one more row, purl one more row.
Repeat decreasing rows from * to * above to 7 sts, then bind off as above.
Make another heart side in same manner.

You can either use knit side or purl side for outside of heart.
Holding heart pieces together, start sewing top "humps" of heart together down each side to within about 3 inches each side of bottom point. Leave this open for now, and push stuffing inside each heart hump and down center and side of heart. Stuff " plumply "!
As you get near the bottom point, keep stuffing, then sew bottom point sides together.

Weave in any yarn ends to inside of pillow.

Note - We used Lion Brand Fun Fur for our pillows. We cannot guarantee the same results will occur with any other type of yarn.
