John Carney reported that it works, but the X display is corrupt
Jake Roztocil suggests the following to fix the X display:
Login to console as root as soon as the prompt is available.
X (corrupt) will start to load and then will suspend.
CD to /usr/X11/bin and run ./xorgconfig.
Choose default options (inc. PS2 mouse, not MS) and choose the
generic S3 video card (option 22).
No changes to screen size or bit depth necessary (I use 16k).
Save this file to /etc/X11. It may be necessary to save in the
local dir then copy.
Shutdown then halt and press any key to reboot.
