Get Messy re-defined “miniature golf” on Tuesday, Nov. 12, as the Charles City Public Library’s weekly program invited kids to come in to create “Fairy Golf” courses.

Utilizing a variety of crafting items, from popsicle sticks to plastic Easter eggs to paper cups and cardboard tubes, the kids set up tiny courses that a marble could roll through.

Without any particular design the follow, the activity encouraged creative thinking and problem solving as each kid came up with their own ideas on how to construct their course.

“I like to do things to make them think,” said Children’s Librarian Stacey Leerhoff.

Coming up next week, the program will let kids shape animals out of modeling clay.
