On International Mountain Day, we celebrate the vital role mountains play in our lives and renew our commitment to protecting these precious ecosystems. Over the past year, we have made progress in tackling plastics waste in mountain areas in the context of our project "plastic waste in the remote and mountainous area”.

The second meeting of the small intersessional working group on the on the electronic approaches to the notification and movement documents of the Basel Convention is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, 3 – 4 December 2024. The outcomes of the meeting will be submitted for consideration by COP 17 in April-May 2025.
