Report abuse in a meeting

As part of our commitment to keep meetings safe, you have the ability to report abuse from within Google Meet. You can report any participant who violates our Acceptable Use Policy. Once we receive your report, we'll investigate it and take the appropriate action. We'll get back to you only if we require additional details or have more information to share.

Report multiple participants simultaneously

Important: It’s mandatory to fill out all fields of the abuse form.

  1. On the bottom of a meeting screen, click More options More.
  2. Click Report abuse .
  3. In the pop-up box, select the abuse type.
  4. Enter the display names of the abusers.
  5. Describe the issue.
  6. Click Report.

Attach a video clip when you report abuse

Important:

  • You can only attach a video clip to your abuse report in meetings organized by a consumer account user, i.e., someone who uses Meet with a non-Google Workspace subscriber account.
  • You can’t attach a video clip to your abuse report if a user with a Google Workspace subscriber account joins a meeting organized by a consumer account user.

Some users might notice an optional checkbox that allows them to share a video clip of the meeting when they report abuse. The optional video clip:

  • Allows Google to understand the context behind an abusive meeting report. This includes:
    • Meeting disruption
    • Harassment
    • Child abuse, etc.
  • Exists to provide Google with more evidence of a potential violation of our Acceptable Use Policy.

The video clip shared with Google:

  • Doesn't include audio from the meeting
  • Isn’t more than one minute long
  • Is only used to validate abuse, which may include manual review, and is then deleted
